I hope my Jack Russell doesn't do this ?

Oh that's funny. That's the second dog I've seen that likes to climb trees. When I was a kid, our next door neighbor's beagle just loved to climb live oaks. :D

I have a friend in Delaware that has a Jack Russell that does the same thing. Chases Squirrel up trees all the time. Runs 10 feet up the side of the tree.

It's actually amazing to watch. They truly are "A big dog trapped in a little dogs body"

I've seen my Jack in a tree a few times. After his encounter with a skunk last weekend maybe he'll spend more time in a tree and less time digging around stumps.

Pit,

Bella, my little JRT, is my "mountain dog". She is as sure footed as an alpaca! :D Great little trail companion she is.

Oh Yeah..

JRT's are known for their clear thinking when it comes going back after prey, that has pissed them off.

:D

Jacks are great, my male was a jumper. He could jump objects better than dogs twice his size. Sadly he has a little arthritis in his front shoulder that makes long walks difficult. He can still jump pretty good, but I try to limit it.
He will be 15yrs old this June..

that is sad that he is getting older and whanot, but man some of the memories with him...hope he is there for atleast another five buddy.

Our Staffie loves to climb trees much to dismay to the local bird live. She basically wrestles herself up, not that she catches any birds but it does make them angry.

I only had the mutt Clyde for about 3 weeks when I found out he could climb a ladder. I was about 8' up a ladder cutting some tree branches when I turned around and saw him climbing up the ladder to me. Looked like he knew what he was doing, too! :D

Thanks, other than the arthritis and being blind in one eye he is still peppy. I hope we still have a few more years together...

Taco..thats a great looking dog..I used to have a Rat Terrier..my Ex-wife took him in the seperation..I cried like a baby, man I miss that dog. I think in few years I will get another..a Jack or Rat..almost the same..tough little dogs, and man, can they be mean, or atleast mine was. I saw my RatTerrier get under a GoldenRetriever's legs and clamp down on the nuggets once..that dog never went within 5-6 feet of my Rat again.
