Could you please tell me if it was the Japanese Admiral or Prime Minister that said this quote and how it ends. My dad and I disagree on the ending of this quote he says Tiger and I say Giant.

I believe it was "Giant" and it was a Japanese admiral. I cannot recall his name at the moment.

I should have posted this community I guess, sorry about that. And since I'm here, this quote was after the Japanese had attacked Pearl Harbour if that clears any thing up.

That was Admiral Yamamoto, who was later killed by USAAC P-38 pilots en route to Bouganville. He said" I fear we have awakened a sleeping giant, and filled him with a terrible resolve". Yamamoto had lived and studied in the US, and was aware of the potential the country had in terms of industry, and ability to project power.
