I Inherited An Old Hatchet, Help Me

!!!!! I second that notion. I note the "14-1/2" inch handle. Mine is exactly 13-1/2", ad says 12" ....................... :\ It certainly HAS a handle. :p Based on more pics and the handle that was on mine, I do think you could make something pretty close from a hardware store find. Maybe not exact but pretty close. I just thought the drawing had a neat look to it.

Especially with a fatter one as there will be room to change its curves.

Here's the commonly available link handle that he should look for

I'm pretty sure this handle would be perfect.

I'm pretty sure the local Ace Hardware carries basic handles. I'll drop in and take a look.

Wow that head is pretty sweet Bigfatts. Cleaned up really well. I'm excited to see the re hung pictures! Good work.

!!! Yeah if you can find one that chubby you will be on easy street. That would work great. It's not nearly as clipped as HH handles either.

Just for comparison a 16'' House Handel and T T Tomahawk with the haft I carved out of some dead fall Pecan branch with the hart running right down the center,FWIW.

Well, I finally found an Ace Hardware that had a handle in stock and picked it up. Gonna take a good bit of whittling to get it on there. Now to research the how-to's on that.

Find an axe to grind on YouTube, it was created by a fellow forum member oldaxeman ( I had no clue it was him all this time ) and is basically the best reference video there is 👍
