I just bought a Spyderco Pride and can't find anything about them.

I tried the search function and got nothing.The spyderco site didn't have anything about them either.
It's plain edged,non-locking,aluminum handle slabs,stainless pocket clip,AUS-6 seki-city japan.
and the True North Knives logo in the side.
I'm just curious about the history of theese knives.

They have been disco'd for a while due to low sales volume. Seems the idea of the country's flags on the handle didn't go over well most places. Sal said in a recent thread in General Discussion that the idea was to sell them in airports, kind of a "collect the flags of all the countries you visit" type of thing. (If you are interested, I'll see if I can find that thread and kick it to the top).

Sal is currently working on the "Urban", which should make a great replacemant for the Pride.

To add, I believe it had a bit of rather unlucky timing. 9/11 and the airport knife restrictions removed the plan for airport selling...:(
