I just can't love the griptilian, anyone else the same way?

I'm not even sure why, I'm pretty sure its tied to the cheap feeling plastic handles, it fits my hands well, A combination of lack of weight and feeling like I am going to bend or break them, but I love the shape, love the blade design, I love the lock, but for some reason, it just doesn't end up in my pocket, my skyline usually did before I lost it, but I don't usually bring the grippy, I'm not sure if I don't want to carry it due to the size like I previously though, or if I just find the handle and weight unsatisfying.

Anyone else unsatisfied with the griptilian, and maybe understood why a little clearer than I do? I really want to add to the collection while I have some money and get something Ill actually carry, but I just don't know if its a size or build issue. It may seem really weird I don't know which, but I just don't get the satisfaction of carrying it around and using it.

I wasn't a fan of the Griptilian.
But I am absolutely in love in the Mini Griptilian.

was it a size or feeling issue?

I'm considering actually buying a sebenza, but if i dropped the dough for one I really better love carrying it.

+1. The big one is chunky and hollow, while the mini was my EDC until the Seb kicked it out of the pocket. The mini has full liners, feels much more solid, and has smaller (and IMO comfier) bumps on the handle.

This actually makes me feel quite a bit better, I would say chunk and hollow sums it up perfectly, it almost makes it feel unwieldy which was my biggest concern with a large sebenza or umnumzaan. although I broke the blade on my buck 110 just handling it I find the handle weight kind of stabilizing.

The Seb is the opposite of the Grip IMO. I only have a small 21 (two in fact), but they are both very solid and "anti hollow/chunky."

You won't regret it. Look for a good deal in the Exchange; patience will bring good deals.

Maybe you should just have a cocktail first. I don't know, light some candles, put on some romantic music.

Do you ever regret not buying a large? I have a couple fixed blades for if I ever needed to baton, but I'm curious if the small feels a small as the specs suggest.

There's no crime in not liking a knife others like. If you don't like it sell or exchange it for something else but do whatever makes you happy and forget what others think.

I pretty much love the Grip as well as the Mini-Grip (I own several).

The only issue that I have is that it is a bit rough on the lining of my pockets,
Spydercos seem to tear them up less.

I rotate between my Cabella's Grippie in D2 and my 21. Love them both, but the Grippie is a bit more ergonomic, easier to open and lighter to carry. Both are brilliant designs IMHO.

LOL! Good one!

Hey, keep in mind that this guy broke the blade on a Buck 110 just handling it. If I was him I wouldn't dare touch my penis!

I really like the 555 version of the mini griptilian. I have the 551 full and mini sized versions too in M4 but carry the regular 154CM version mini more. It feels more solid and is very user friendly. Eventually I'm going to get aftermarket grips for them all and see if it makes me want to pocket the 551s more.

Back when they were like 90$ I thought it was an amazing knife and design.
Light and strong.
A bit high for the handle material now, but none the less. The design is a real worker.

I didn't like the plastic feel of the Grip handles either but if you go and get a set of aftermarket g-10 scales it makes it a whole new knife.

Yeah, the partial liners and FRN drove me away too. Definitely didn't have the feel of an $80 knife.
