Allus wanted a Bowie. No damn reason. Then I came across this one. Got it yesterday. I have NEVER seen anything so SHARP out of the box. Not even Spydie or Mcusta. Just TOUCH it and it is trying to peel fingerprints off.

So, it's just a LOOKER. I still like it. Come to think of it, I can't think of ANY use for a Bowie. Are there any? Other than fightin on sandbars?

I thought the price was quite modest for such a limited edition and from a maker as well known as Buck. I think they are limited to only 100 of each handle material. Elk, buffalo horn, and desert wood. New Graham was the only place I could find that had the elk one. They're selling for more on eBay and it's only a little more than what the old Gerber bowies are selling for.

I've been looking for a nice bowie since I don't have one in my collection and may be called upon, at any time, to defend the Alamo! :D I am definately going to order one, just can't decide on the handle. I collect a lot of the Buck limited editions, and really like them. Don't know if they'll ever be worth more than I paid, but that's not why I buy them. Enjoy yours!
 
ronsec, don't dally if you decide on the ELK handle. I did a LOT of lookin to find that pup. Next harder to find is the buff horn and there seem to be quite a few of the desert ironwoods. But.....100 isn't a whole lot of either.

And my motivation was the same as yours. I had NO bowie knife!!!:eek:

Mine has already increased in value. The value I get from lookin an playin wit it.

Lavan ... I just ordered the Buffalo Horn model from NGK. I really want all three, but a divorce is too expensive! :D
By the way, I found a Giraffe Bone handle model at Knifeoutlet. A real beauty, but more money! Check it out!

Also, when I didn't check what I didn't see, I didn't like the giraffe as much as the elk. An besides, there were no GIRAFFES at da Alamo.
