I just got a paycheck for $158.

You know, there's bikes...and then there's bikes. I don't know what you ride, but I used to ride Harleys. My wife and I have been building a house for the last 7 years, just doing work as we could afford it - and doing as much of it ourselves as possible. Well, the RoadKing fell victim to house expenses. Sold it because I needed the money! Couple years ago, however, I bought a Suzuki DL1000 VStrom. That particular model definitely falls into the category of, "Pretty is as pretty does." It's a bit of an ugly duckling, but with some HB Engine Gaurds, a belly pan, some big Pelican cases for saddlebags, and Two Brothers exhaust, that bike is more fun than I EVER had on ANY Harley. It does dirt roads and highway with ease, has more attitude, more power, and it cost less than HALF what the Harley did. I love it, never will go back. Adventure bikes suit my needs better than Harleys, and the Strom is a fantastic value. Now, if I ever save up enough money I hope to get a BMW 1200GS someday, but that's fairly unlikely with 6 kids so far! :) Anyway, you might find that some or all of your bikes can be moved now, and one really good value like the Strom could take their place. I'm really glad I "had" to sell the 'King, because it made me start looking at what bikes were available in my new, lower price range.

Nothing can replace my current bikes for what I like to do. Anytime I want to take it easy and just ride around, I just borrow whatever I want from work. I sell Ducati, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Yamaha, Honda, and Kawasaki so I've got some variety. BUT!, when it's time to piss of the locals up in the mountains, I bring out the secret weapon. When I lived in Memphis, I started racing supersport and built an R6 that will make most litre bikes cry in shame in the curves. Now-a-days I don't race anymore, but I still have the bike cause you just can't get your money back from something like that and I still like to do track days. That bike is BUILT.

I'm talking (starting from the floor) Marchesini magnesium wheels, Race H2 tires, Sprocket Specialists rear sprocket on countershaft sprocket, D.I.D. ER chain, Traxxion Dynamics built front forks, custom built Penske rear shock, Supersport blueprinted R6 motor with covers made by Woodcraft, CFMotorsports (Woodcraft) quick peg change rearsets, Power Commander, BMC filter, Graves titanium full race exhaust, Graves quick change frame sliders, Sharkskins with 1/4 turn detach d-rings, Woodcraft clip-ons, CRG adjustable levers, Goodridge steel braided brake lines, Vortex no-key gas cap, adjust on the fly steering damper (can't remember who made it), and to cap it off, from the place of my birth, a Memphis Shades double bubble.

Everything in the garage, other than my mini-motard, has a list like this. I just can't part with them.

Speaking of adventure bikes, we're getting the new Multistrada in soon. I CAN NOT WAIT to ride that thing. Have you read all the crazy stuff that bike is going to be able to do?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure my Strom wouldn't be able to replace that type of bike! :) I'll do my reading on the Multistrada...not that I need any ideas on new motorcycles!

After you read up on that new Duc, you might wanna give me a call. ;)
