I just got my new toy today: HI Gelbu Special!

One nice thing about dealing with Uncle Bill is that you know that he adheres to a strict code of ethics. In all his business dealings he conducts himself in the most moral manner possible. That's what so nice about owning HI khuks -- you can really feel good about them because you know that every aspect of their creation was in keeping with highest ethical standards.

We touched on the issue of ethical use of resources in the Chandan thread at http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum26/HTML/000642.html . Of course, the chandan that HI used in the few chandan handles they made came from an old barn in Nepal that was dismantled. HI decided to discontinue use of chandan because of cracking problems before the supply from the barn ran out, so they never had to confront this issue there.

HI has dealt with similar issues, and met them in an ethical manner, in their use of rare deer horn in some handles.

Just received mine after 1 mth in the air! My 1st comment is "Wowww ... !". It is a stout & well built blade!

I also received my Hanuman (the last one from Shop #1) at the same day I received GS:

Shop #1 Hanuman is a MA fighter!
GS is a WWF Wrestler!

Mohd, does your Hanuman have the dui chirra blade, or the 18" WWII blade like mine? See the 19" Village Utility thread by T. Sisco. That is terrible, getting both at the same time - not being able to spend appreciate and get to know one first, then move onto the next. As I've said before, I love blondes, brunettes, redheads, and raven tressed girls. How does one choose anything but all of them?

Rusty.

It is a dui chirra! It has a double groves separated by a ridge in between of the spine and the bevel - I am not exagarating when I say that it is a real piece of metal art - strong atheletic sort of blade - very nicely forged by the Kamis - beautifully cut Kowdi Cho - beautifully carved handle - scabbard with high quality water buffalo hide & it is nicely sewn by the Sarkis! Ahh ... it is the last dui chirra Hanuman from Shop #1!

My GS is a different character of blade - It looks wild, fierce & very aggressive! I’m fully agree with Pala when he said that it really suit for those Gorkha Army!

Receiving 2 Khuks at one time give me the feeling of getting marry to 2 ladies!Wow … just great! – make me real busy attending both of them! LOL!
