Yup, a frame locked ECA persian would kiiiiick aaaass but I agree its best left as is.

And I'm in Taiwan so it would be a small skip over the Pacific to the west coast :D

true story, when i 1st got into EKI's i wanted a P-Tac, they were kinda hard to come by for a while, a guy had a ECA P-tac for sale on BF, started at $240, then $230, then $220, then $210, all the way down to $175, still no takers, i honestly didnt really know what the heck they were, or what they cost, i finally em'd the guy & offered $150, he accepted but made me pay shipping, which i bitched about lol, he kept telling me "man ya are getting some deal on this....." & "just wait a few yrs and see what they are worth then" lol, it wasnt until after i got it i even knew it was zero beveled hand ground, i was pleasently suprised and it was one of my better buys of all my knife buys and like i said it wasnt until i got it that i even understood WTF about it lol, i guess i am just lucky sometimes lol.

A frind of mine in Japan sold his for close to US$600 last year
I was pretty keen to take it off his hands like but I wasnt paying that much for it

If you ever find one kicking about make sure and send it my way, you can never have too many P-Tacs :D:thumbup:

The P-Tac is the "code name" for the "Persian tactical" or "tactical Persian"
Its just the standard full black Persian we all know and love :p

The "ECA P-Tac" is the "Emerson Collectors Association Persian".
This was a limited run, semi custom with a true satin blade, zero bevel edge and the coveted thick liners..... A real nice knife

I see the Persians are no longer listed on the EKI site so it looks like they are discontinued :(

Did Steve do the clip as well? I haven't seen that kind of clip from him before. Excellent work. His framelocking skills are impressive!

The clip was done by me ;)

I have done a few of the clips milled from one piece of Ti rather than bent to shape.
They look much better IMO and act as a lock stop too, being stiffer than a normal clip.

i wouldnt doubt it lol, the last one i saw 4sale was IIRC $450, if i was offered that for mine i would be tempted..............IIRC only ~ 120 made, mine is IIRC 117 or 118, one of the last.

cool knives though for sure, the ZBG makes all the diff in the 2, the production & the ECA, but the production is a cool one also, i have had a couple of those, someone had them a few yrs back for $120 & i bought one, then swapped it, then got another, and ended up swapping it too a few yrs later when they were scarcer (if thats a word lol).

I offered him $400 for it but I think he knew he would get more so fair play to him.
They dont seem to mind paying over the odds for US made knives here in Asia.

I'v seen production Emersons in shops here priced twice what they are from EKI

I really hope the Persian isn't discontinued, but it looks like it is. Total bummer.

Yea, its a bit of a kick in the nuts :grumpy::(

The Persians not exactly the most popular EKI out there so i can see why they cut back on one of the less popular models.

I have loved them from day one and probably have more than my fair share
of them but i'll probably still have to pick up one or two more :D:thumbup:

Thanks Haze. If a Persian comes my way I'll be sure to check it out.:)
