a knife from DPX

me1: It's a framelock! I don't buy famelocks so why did I just spend $290?

me2: It's all metal. Short, thick knife. Looks cool.

me1: But I want the thumbhole, not another thumbstud. And it's too small... and heavy... 1/4lbs... I I don't even know what steel it is!!!!!

me2: Well, the order is complete and I can't cancel it.

I own one and I don't hate it, but I wouldn't really recommend it in particular.

I like the ergos a lot, especially on a knife with such a short blade. If I wanted something very heavy duty and Chicago or Boston legal I would probably carry it. Lots of lock stick, which I'm not a big fan of. I don't have any plans to get rid of mine, but if I lost it I wouldn't replace it, for whatever that's worth.
 
I bought a cheap HEAT off the exchange.

Two of the screws were wrong, I set out to replace them...these are my stories...

1. Emailed DPX, no response (weeks)
2. Called DPX, no pickup (twice)
3. Looked on website (please don't call us, text us)
4. Texted DPX, got response in a day. Nope, we don't have screws for sale because lionsteel makes them
5. Emailed Lionsteel, no response (month)
6. Emailed Lionsteel again, no response (had enough)
7. Took the one good screws for measurement (I'm no expert, far from it) Countersunk T6, buddy tells me it's M2.5x4.5x6
8. Found screws on MMCarr, 100 in a bag...oh well
9. Screws delivered (yay)
10. Tried putting them in, heads too big (f***)
11. Turns out, they are M2 (screw you Owen)
12. Tried finding countersunk M2x4.5x6.

Apparently, such a screw is rarer than a virgin 19yr old.

TLDR: don't like DPX, don't like Lionsteel (even more), f*** you Owen, now I gotta melt the 100 screws down to make musket bullets.

Thanks for reading. Also, the bag I kept the screws in had a tiny hole, so now even the good one is missing. Rant over!

I've had some good outcomes doing this and some not so good. Here's hoping this one comes out in the good column for you. :thumbsup:
 
I am hoping that you didn't blow the grocery money on an impulse buy . . .good for you if the near $300 doesn't affect your immediate standard of living.

In any case, glad you got your knife.
