as some of you may have known, yesterday (sunday) was my 30th birthday.. :foot: it was a long weekend, we had a big bash all day saturday, with a cool local band and all..:D and we spent the day on sunday with my family...

anyhow, my father in law had told me on saturday, that my present was in the mail.. i was wondering what it could be.. he's a cool guy and i am still getting in trouble, for turning him into a knife and archery junkie... so i figured it would be something cool...

he and his wife just stopped by and he gave me my present, it was a NIB BARK RIVER BRAVO-1, IN ANTIQUE IVORY MICARTA man oh man is this thing nice... i have wanted one of these knives, since they came out.. now i truly know what all the hype is about.. i love it.. it feels great in the hand.. the edge is wicked sharp and the scales are just too cool...

i just thought i would share my joy, with you folks.. the misses, even though she loves knives, just doesn't understand..:o
i'll try and get some pics up soon... i actually either need to make a sheath for it, or buy one, because i'm not too stoked off the kydex it came with... it'll do just fine for now...

mike

the scales on this antique ivory micarta are ao cool... it almost looks like bamboo or some other kind of wood...

i just got it about 20 minutes ago.. :D and it's only cut some paper and a few apples... this knife, like all bark rivers is waaaay sharp...

Congrats!!! I love the look of the antique ivory micarta, awesome blade :D

So, even considering the thinkess of the blade you think its going to be a good cutter?

i haven't seen a bark river that wasn't a good cutter... i own maybe 6 or 7 now, and all came wicked sharp.. the convex edge is easy to maintain...

Congrats on the awesome score and Happy Belated B-day!!

I handled one exactly like that at yesterdays busse meet, and it felt great. I really want one in ghost green jade w/ black liners.

Here's a picture of a another bravo and dumpster mutt from the meet.

Nice score mate. The Bravo 1 is a awesome knife. I wasn't a huge fan of the ktdex either, so I picked up the after maket sheath fro BR. The leather bravo sheath is top shelf.

I also have the after market sheath on order and I expect it any day.

Happy birthday Mike, (and 30 is the new 23 so don't freak.) Great score, I've been eyeing these off for a good while, they look mean. Solid, clean, great looking handle, tough as nails. You'll have to show pics of your now expanding BRKT family.

Many happy returns amigo. I actively deter people from making presents of knives to me 'cos it's a source of angst. You came out of that very well though. Neat.

Happy birthday Mike.....and what a great present.

Looking forward to at least a small review once you use it some more.

Now all we need to do is get pitdog one :D That knife is right up his alley.

Happy b- day bro, that's the same Bravo-1 i just got, sweeet.;-)I also got the leather and the matching ferro rod, really cool setup.you're gonna love it,it's my first barkie and I'm hooked now, ordered 2 more already.
