  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

i just stabbed myself with my Yojimbo 2....

As we say in my country, that happens even in the best families...:D...
hope your foot heals quick...

Lol I have had stitches a couple of times myself... What a way to feel dumb lol; now when I take my knives out my friends are even more scare of them :)

Going to make for an interesting for sale thread.
FS: Yojimbo 2, like new in sock. :D

Damn, sounds like that knife has bit quite a few people on this forum haha. From the looks of the tip, it has to be one of the worst knives to accidentally drop on your foot. Ouch.

I nailed myself in the ankle by dropping a kitchen knife last year. The worst part was keeping the dog away from the puddle of blood on the floor while trying to stop the bleeding.
Fortunately it was good clean cut and with direct pressure things were under control after a few minutes and it healed up very nicely.

Well the good news is I do not have an infection, but the cut is on my arch. so walking sucks and it wants to keep bleeding a little when I do. I am glad I work from my home.....

Finally a reason to not buy a YO2!! Thank you so much for that as my wallet is hurting from spydi-purchases. Hope you recover quickly! On the bright side at least the knife didn't hit that tile floor!

My house is all wood floors, so it went down on wood....the bathroom did look like a crime scene.

Only once I got cut from a falling knife.
Top of foot. Through my shoe.

A buck 110.
Never again. Now I jump out of the way.

If you had the choice between taking it in the foot, or knowing that the Yojimbo would miss you entirely, but KNOWING FOR SURE that a 1/4 inch of the tip would break off, I bet you'd still choose to take it in the foot :P lol

Since the wound is healing really nicely, the foot did make a good block. So, yes. ;)

But the Yo2 is in detention till my foot is fully healed.

I was really thinking about the Yojimbo 2 and how easily it went into my foot. I really don't think my PM2, Manix 2, Stretch or Endura would of done as deep a cut from as short of a fall.

I was reading about the wharncliffe and why the designer choose it. Just pushing straight in causes the swedge to push the edge into a cutting motion. Plus the thin/pointed tip makes the action easy to start. This knife fell maybe a 1'-1/2" and just the weight made it go > 1/2" into the arch of my foot.

The Yo2 makes a great EDC blade, but the intended purpose is imho is where it excels. I just need to learn the Filipino style....

I have the yojimbo and the p'kal that I edc a lot. I have got myself with the yojimbo yet a though after sharpening my p'kal to a mirror edge I was playing with it. I pinched the lock and flipped the blade down and the button of the knife slipped deeper into my palm and it sliced through my palm like nothing. It was pretty scarry how it didn't even slow down when it hit my palm. Slices a 1/2 inch gash in my palm. I stopped playing.with it. Carry only. Lol

Enjoy the recovery and change those bandaids often

Growing up in a farm and having knives since I was 10 I remember my grandfather telling me not to use them to play. Never play with fire, guns or knives... it was god advice. Hope it heals fast.

I got this reply from Michael Janich on another forum.

Dear Screwdriver:

I'm sorry to hear about your foot and hope it's healing well. I'm always curious to hear about the Yo2's performance, but I'd say you've gone above and beyond for the sake of science.

Heal quickly.

Stay safe,

Mike

The man is a master and has a good sense of humor.
