I just won this Buck 500

John,

Are you thinking of the Amber bone 500? If so, its ATS-34. Anyway, post a picture if you can. I was not aware of a 500 in S30V other than these micarta knives. I'd really love you to prove yourself correct.

Here is my honey bone (or amber bone 500) and its not in S30V.

:eek::eek::foot: Gordon,

Please accept my most sincere and humble apology. That is the exact knife I was thinking of. S30V is my favorite steel, so I upgraded the ATS-34 to S30V in my mind:rolleyes:. That is not the first time that I did that and the last time Jimbo helped me to see the error of my ways.

Next time before shooting from the hip I should/better look at all the Buck SO/LE data I have at hand and not on my failing memory. What is really sad G is that knife was only 4 feet from where I sat as I posted incorrect data if I looked at it....oh well......sorry...:o

Thanks JB and no problem. I tell you I'd liked like to see more S30V and bone on BCCI knives. So I was hoping you had a 500 tucked away in that steel I didn't know about. To be honest, that honey bone 500 is one of the nicest knives the Club and Buck have ever collaborated on for us Buckeroos.

JB, Think nothing of it as I've done the same thing . Sometimes I just didn't want to look it up and went from memory which turned out to be incorrect . You guys are still a great asset here . I like the 500 . DM

According to the tracking info, I'm supposed to get my 500 tomorrow. I'll post some pics as soon as it's in my hands. :)
Also, I sold my broken gold and that paid for it almost exactly! I got $130 bucks for some old broken gold chains, a ring I found, and a few other gold scraps I've been hanging on to for years. Sometimes things just work out.

Absolutely GREAT picture of a great knife.

Nice idea.

(Ammo always adds something.)

:)

Those rounds are .32-40. They were made for a special edition John Wayne lever-action rifle. I worked at a sporting goods store in the 80's and they had two boxes of this ammo on their shelf. I bought one and a co-worker bought the other. It was around $12 iIrc. I don't have a gun in this caliber but I've always liked John Wayne. A box of it recently sold on GunBroker.com for $66.

I've been poking around the club website....there's a lot of interesting information there.

Good investment.
