back at the CQB skills seminar, on 10/7, You had a a breif lesson about the importance of a lanyard on one's tomahawk. I forgot to ask, How long should the lanyard be???

Big Target,
From the looks of it Mr. Caracci tied the knot on the lanyard just long enough so that the hawk would easily fall into the hand when swinging it from grip to grip. Just experiment and you will find out how long you need it to do the transitions properly. Hope this helps.

BT,

From what I saw the loop looked about 7-8 inches long from the back of his wrist to the lanyard hole when stretched into action.

Try catching it in forward and reverse grip...a little cool thing he showed me recently...

All the Best,

Brian.

Is is one continuous strand looped around?

Is it two strands?

Four strand knot? Sennit? Square knot?

I am stumped. I wanna do it right.

Ex,

You can do a square knot or a single or double overhand loop -- one strand.

Make sure it's strong cordage like 550 paracord.

Hope this helps,

Brian.

Just put one on my NG hawk. I had to jiggle my memory a bit to remember a way Andy put on on his VN hawk. The way was a series of knots next to each otherwhich kept the loop openedso your hand slides through easily.
When I get the shoulder rig, that loop will work great!!!

Andy!!!!! Do you still have that pic,of the knotted loop, in your files???
