I've had that happen before when the package hadn't actually arrived yet. It showed up the next day. Can't explain it but it happened. Call your local Post Office and ask them about it.

Aargh, that can make your blood run cold. Had it happen twice in the last 3 months. Once the package was left on the walk at the corner of my house, not at the front door. The other time the carrier brought it back and stuck it in my box about 3 hours after the tracking showed it delivered. Check your box again and take a walk around...no telling what's running through their minds...

Hope you find it or it shows up tomorrow!

I had this happen not with a knife, but with a $250 pair of boots I got my mom for Christmas. Luckily Zappos was kind enough to send another pair at no cost, which I did get. People are just gdmfa sometimes. I mean really, are you that desperate? What if it turns out to be a bra or something you just stole? Fat lot of good that does you if your a guy.

I ordered a Delica 4 Emerson opener from Amazon.ca, and a week later I got a call from my kind neighbour that a package turned up in their mail box with my name on it. I was a bit confused and was discouraged from dealing with Amazon.ca, but I was very happy to finally get my Delica. I didn't want to risk anything else with Amazon due to this mishap but when I saw the Spyderco Resilience in stock I decided to purchase one. It was a very big mistake because it did not come in. After multiple attempts at trying to get my money back I came to the conclusion that Amazon has little care for their customers, so I gave up and decided to cut my losses. I despise Amazon.ca, their buyer protection is flawed and I will never order from them again.

I sent a knife out once and it got delivered to a different address in the same town . The member kept calling the post office and they basically called it Lost . The knife showed up at the post office like 10 days later . It was a great expirince for me . the other member and I had great communication and we both did what was right and then 10 days later he emails me pictures of the knife .

I hope it turns out well for you.

This is one of the reasons why I always use signature required for anything shipped or received. Sure, it's a bit of a pain sometimes, but that beats losing the item to some thief.

I need to know how this ends! You're lucky to work where you do!

I haven't had many inconsistent experiences with UPS, but USPS..
I like USPS. However.. Sometimes, they don't keep up with their tracking updates.
For example.. Let's say that they drop your mail off at 12 PM each morning, and your package arrived to them at 1 PM. Sometimes, they seem to mark it as 'delivered,' and deliver it the next day.
That said, I've watched the tracking of my package, and it hasn't been updated in about a week. Then it arrives.. A day later, all of the tracking information that was supposed to be filled in from those seven days, and the day it was delivered, was entered.

I think it's more likely that you'll get your package tomorrow. You can call the company that's shipping it, if you want, to see what information that they may have. If it's USPS, try calling your local post office.

I will always remember how well you handled that. I really appreciated your attitude and would do further business with you anytime.

I can't imagine how you feel. There have been times I was heated just for a package arriving a day late. I'd blow a gasket if something got lost, esp if it was a knife.

I wish you luck and hope it turns up.

I've never had anything lost yet, but I will say that USPS tracking does indeed suck.

In August the Post Office is fielding new scanners for their new tracking system. It should cut down greatly on mis-deliveries. I've been told it will use GPS and other high tech stuff.

My neighbor, 3 doors down, works at our local P.O. - I just talked to him about this..

Geeze...it feels sooooooooooooooo GOOD to have Mono for a neighbour. Today was a good day! :p

When I was expecting my Work Sharp I had a similar incident happen. It was sent via Fedex. I watched the driver stop in the middle of the street and then sit there confused for a few minutes. He then walked to the the house 2 doors down, and the residents there are certified hoarders, and dropped the package on the door. It was suppose to have delivery confirm. He then went back to his truck, so I stopped him and told him I was expecting a package and asked if he had one for me. He then realized he left my package at the wrong house. If I wouldn't of came outside I would have never of received it and it would have been marked delivered and I would have been screwed.
