I just ordered another one of these.DSCF9727.JPG
(Kabar, Kabar, Craftsman, Western, Schrade-Walden, Case)
I like the stag Kabar for the stag, the walnut Kabar was my first and had the worst cel damage I've ever seen, I like the single liner-lock blade on the Craftsman, the slimness of the Western, the age and sheath on the Schrade-Walden, and I like the Case just because.

The new one is a Queen in D2, and the only one available from AGR's specials this morning. What else could I do?

I've never once denied being "crazy". :)
"Life" would be boring if you're not at least a little bit "crazy". :D "Crazy" is "normal". :D

Better "crazy" than "insane". There is a difference, you know. They lock you up if you're "insane".

If you're only "crazy" you get N+1 __(fill in blank(s))__, and are "happy". :)
You'd be insane if you get/have concurrent N+1 wives and/or girlfriends, though.
The concurrent N+1 wives and/or girlfriends would/will make sure of that ... they would also ensure that you are perpetually broke; physically, mentally, and financially.:rolleyes::confused::)

Nice collection of folding hunters. :)

Crazy? No way.
(Eccentric? Maybe. ;))
But I've never had a folding hunter, probably because of the size. Please convince me why I should change my mind and give one a try.

1) They're cool.
2) They're practical.
3) They have two full size blades for different purposes.
4) They were "The Cat's Meow" folding hunting knife before 1964.
5) They don't weigh much (if any) more than a Buck 110.
6) You won't feel the weight on your belt.
7) You know deep down that you want at least one.
8) "Great Grandpa (and/or Grandpa) used one; if it was good enough for him, it's good enough for me!"?
9) They're a Historical Pattern that has a place in any collection.
10) They're really cool!

:)

Thanks afishhunter afishhunter for answering 5KQS better than I could, and for reassuring me.
Thank you all for your support.

This post was premature because AG's office wasn't open yet and somebody may have bought the knife before I did. If so, I'll just have to console myself with having saved the money to blow on something else.

Clearly crazy. The most I have of any one pattern is 6, which is not crazy by definition because it is something I have done. But 7 is just insane. Check yourself into an institution for treatment, or perhaps have breakfast somewhere nice.

Nice old KaBar.. there are 2 other iterations of the KaBar folding hunter, you need those too. May as well start with the single blade versions too, or your shelf will start to tilt funny.

The amber carved stag Queens are amazing. I have 3.

You're not crazy, folding hunters give you thw biggest slab of your favorite handle material of all.. how could you be crazy.. i'm not, so you aren't either. Yea. That's it.

That's perfectly normal.

Reminds me of an interview I saw of Jay Leno. The gist was: "BUT I ONLY HAVE 1 WIFE! I have 150 cars, and it's better to come home smelling like transmission fluid than cheap perfume."

You are not crazy, my family has owned and carried the pattern for generations. Great for field dressing, skinning, camp chores, filleting, and just about everything you can imagine. Here is a picture from my deer blind a few years back. I was fortunate to inherit this model that belonged to my great grandfather later in his life. How many fish, deer, pheasants, bear did this knife engage? The stories it could tell.
