I know it’s been said before, but Gary W. Graley is the man😉

Thanks Martin it really adds to that folder!

Don't presume his pronouns or gender.

(Just kidding, Gary. You know we love ya. ☺️ )

You had me until you mentioned the beverage.

Gary also puts an INCREDIBLE EDGE on his knives. I happen to own one that he put an edge on and it’s a hair whittling laser beam!!!!!! Great dude and great member!!!

Gary deserves the love fest here, for sure! As I've slowly absorbed his knife collection this past year, he hasn't complained even once! 😃

The lanyard and bead definitely compliment the knife Martin, congrats. Gary is quite talented and the consummate gentleman to deal with.

Thanks guys, greatly appreciate all the good words and as I always say, friendship goes both ways, which I would count you folks high on the list as well. I'm a fairly spartan kind of person, while I do add some fancy things lanyard wise, I tend to do them if they make sense and add to the knife's benefit in using it.

Years ago I use to make my lanyards much longer and as of late, I've shortened them to about an inch from the knife handle's end to the first knot, just enough room to be able to hook my pinky around.

And woodysone woodysone was a bit special as he had me make the lanyard and send it out with some thread so he could attach it around one of the standoffs and then he tied the whipping knot, I don't like sending things out like that but the option of mailing his knife back and forth had some inherent dangers itself and so I sent it out. My concern was some of the standoffs are fairly close to the blades edge, not leaving clearance for a cord, so the cord would eventually get cut and fail. But he checked and thought there would be enough clearance so it looks like it worked out ok.

Nice job on the whipping knot too there Martin !

I appreciate the same exception for me, as sending a limited and expensive knife back and forth does carry some risk. I'm hoping I can do even half as good a job with a whipping knot (you make it look so easy in your video). But at least with my extra length I'll have a second option for attachment...

I think you'll do fine Doc, just take it slow and be sure to tighten the whipping knot before you slide the one end through the loop, that brings the start of the knot up nice and snug, otherwise it will be a little too loose. Then slip the end through the loop and pull it down just under the wrap, snip it off and then carefully pull it so the snipped end disappears below the wrap and then snip off the starting thread on the other end...

Thanks guys and my friend Win Heger Win Heger has told me before, 'I think you just like getting packages!' and he may very well be right! Who doesn't enjoy opening a box with something new to try out, even for a short while.
And I seem to enjoy the packaging that I do for those knives I've sold, I like that when a person opens their box, they not only get a nice knife, but the presentation upon opening can bring a smile to their face as well. Always a plus in my book. One fellow I made several balisong sheaths for his knives ended up using the carved out layer of foam in his storage draw to keep the knives/sheaths protected ease of access too.
One thing when I ship stuff, I abhor noise coming from within the box and you will invariably find bits of foam cut out to keep things stationary so there is less jostling around. Drives my wife crazy when I hear a strange noise in our house and I have to try and locate the source, usually it's just the house settling a bit, but you never know!

So again, thanks guys, I appreciate that you appreciate the extra effort I put in with everything I do.
