• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Here's the story - I've been helping he neighbor girl learn to shoot for a few years. Shes become a pretty fair offhand shot with my loaned 270. She surprised me by asking her dad if she could come to deer camp this year with him, her brothers, and me.

That being said, I'd like to get her her first knife to remember this year - even if she doesn't get a deer she'll have something.

Rifle season here in Minnesota starts in 2 weeks. Does anyone know of a maker that can produce a pink micarta handled hunter/skinner in that short time? I'm not looking for something super expensive - just something unique, and as good or better than a production knife.

Thanks in advance for your input.

P.S. If you want to get the gal a fixed blade, look at something made by Bark River. They're not horribly expensive and the flat grind is a plus when it comes to ease of sharpening. I like the Bark River Canadian Special.

Brian Goode does a heck of a hunting knife and I know he's done pink G10 in the past.

don't know if he has anything available but it never hurts to ask

Also, +1 on Bark river, they do great work and have a wonderful reputation

Get her a pink Izula and wrap the handle in pink paracord. It'll do the job and she'll love it.

Paracord for a hunter/skinner?? I dont like that idea. It would get all bloody and such. I agree with the bark river

It's your lucky day i happen to have one available

you should play the lottery today, what are the odds that a great bladesmith would have just the knive you need in the color you asked for?!!

For something special, I'd go with a custom. That Fritz knife is of a practical design and price isn't bad. Practical handle material and design that should work well, last long, and clean easy.

Wow, that Fritz does look to fit the bill almost perfectly. Good design, looks to be sized right, is made of the specified handle material, and is available now. Seems to be a match. Let us know how it turns out.

$150 for a custom knife that fits the need and from a Js that makes stuff as clean as Erik??? With a custom sheath and delivered???

Seems like a no brainer to me! :)

Try Mike Snody. He is making some very nice hunting/utility blades with G10 handles and ATS 34 at the moment and at a great price.

Thanks for the vote of confidence everyone. It is kinda humbleing when you got the likes of Nick wheeler promoteing you.

yup - it was a no-brainer!

Can't wait to see the look on her face when I present it to her! Man, are her older brothers going to be pissed!
