I left home without a knife....!

The remedy for this is HABIT !
ALWAYS put your pocket contents in the same place every night and re-load'em from there every morning.

I do this everyday I get home. I just put all the stuff I have in my pockets onto my desk and put them back into my pockets in the morning when I leave home/go to work.

I have lots of 20-something grandkids who seem to toss whatever they have all over the place: "Anybody seen my keys?...my cellphone?...my wallet?"
That's why God invented pockets, and why practical habits may someday save your ass.
My mom does this quite often, atleast with her car keys(despite that we have a special place to put them) and cellphone(and yes, I do live with my parents. Recession ftw.)

Any guy wearing pants or shorts without pockets should be strung up by his balls!!
I support this motion. :D

I gotta have a blade or something or it feels like im missing a limb or something

Lol. I was leaving to run to the supermarket or something recently and before I left, I was looking at a knife I usually carry. I was wondering, "Maybe I'll just leave it here today." Was thinking about it, but couldn't leave without it lol. I had to bring it. You get so used to carrying something that it feels extremely weird not to have one.

Heh. I almost never have a knife clipped in my pocket anymore. I usually let it (AMK S2K) ride in the center console along with my G32 since I can't carry it while at work (in a prison). When I am away from my car I will clip it in my back pocket or tuck a Buck 110 in there next to my wallet. I cannot stand having anything more than my keys in my pockets. At home I always have a couple floating around on my desk.

Just keep one in your car, even if it is something simple like a SAK. And while I like to carry a knife as much as the next guy it isn't the end of the world. Don't be too hard on yourself. ;)

Yup. It all goes on the desk. Both sets of keys, wallet, phone, lighter and smokes, notepad and pen, ID, blah blah blah. Into the pockets in the morning. I rarely leave the house without everything I need.

Maurice, Good for you and Max!
After 40+ years of preaching to sons and grandsons, it's good to know that
there are some guys who get it! :)

You now I forget to take my prescription meds but if I have pants on I have a slipjoint or two, gotta have a knife but you can get over withdrawl symptoms right?

It must be something in the air, I did the same thing a couple days ago. I almost had a panic attack when I needed my knife and was caught knifeless.

Never done that, it is too ingrained in me. It would be like leaving without cell phone, keys and wallet.

Had to fly a few years ago, and only carried one back carry-on.

I seriously looked into the hotel phone book for the nearest Wal-Mart.

Luckily, I met the host of the conference later that evening, and he brought me a SAK of his own for the week. I felt kind of foolish bringing it up, but he didn't make fun of me. My co-worker who traveled with me laughed all week long.

I keep a Ladybug on my keys and a Tasman Salt in my truck for just this occasion.

My wife looks for the "pocket pat" before we leave the house...going to the pool is one thing but running errands and things, I don't feel fully dressed unless I have one of my faves with me!

I've got a nervous habit of fiddling with my knife on and off all day long - even if it is just as simple as putting my hand in my pocket to make sure it is still there. Very little time goes by between "fiddles", so I would notice very quickly if I do not have one on me and can easily rectify the situation.

My bigger problem - the internal debate I go thru every morning when trying to decide which one to have with me. It's so bad that I may change 2 or 3 times before actually leaving the house for work!!

Other problem - where I keep all my pocket "stuff" at the end of the day - I usually have 6-9 knives out on that desk - it drives my wife crazy!:)

I've left home with neither my wallet nor my cellphone on me, but I had a knife.

You gotta get your priorities straight, son! :D
