I like bigger blades but hate to carry them HELP!

Spyderco Endura3. These days they call them Pacific Salts. Decent size blade, light weight, disappears in your pocket.

Do some of you guys live in Lilliputian pocket land world? I find my large 5.5" blade CS Espada fits easily into the front pocket of virtually every pants I have. In fact I find that most kydex sheathed fixed blades, up to 6 inches in blade length, will fit into a front pocket with a G-clip attached to the side of the sheath away from the body.
For larger fixed blades cut off the bottom of your pocket . I've comfortably carried a CS Gurkha kukri in this manner. Even an untucked T-shirt will keep the handle hidden.

I have never minded carrying larger folders, but I find smaller folders to be most useful for the majority of cutting tasks I encounter. So I came up with a compromise, I would simply carry a larger folder and a smaller one. I went through a bounty of smaller folders before settling on what I consider to be one of the best little big folders, the boker pimpsqueak. All the attributes Ive grown to love about overbuilt folders into one compact package. So that sits in my back pocket, and my Jeremy Robertson El Patron in my right front pocket. Works just dandy.

Larger type folders I carry are BM710, Spyderco GB/Milli, Zt 551, Large seb, Buck Vantage LG....Not exactly the largest out there but they all pretty much disappear while in the pocket. My right front pocket always has a folder and an iphone. Knives I've stated are fine in my case. Looking to add a vecp and a 560 soon, hope they carry well also.

The ZT 0550 actually carries pretty well for being the tank that it is. I've been favoring smaller blades lately (the Skyline being the biggest in my normal EDC rotation), but I picked up the 0550 because the design just oozed awesome. I do find it a bit too bulky for front pocket carry (shares a pocket with keys and wallet), but it carries pretty well in the back pocket. I've been carrying it daily for the last couple of weeks, and while it doesn't disappear in the pocket like my smaller EDC blades, it's actually not especially obtrusive either. 3.5" blade (3.375" cutting edge), 0.55" thick handles (14 mm), 4.625" closed, 5.8 oz.

Although not a tank (but still plenty sturdy), the Endura4 provides a lot of blade in a lightweight, compact package. 3.75" blade (3.5" cutting edge), 0.43" thick handles (11 mm), 5" closed, 3.4 oz. For reference, the Skyline is a 3.25" blade (3" cutting edge), 0.39" thick handles (10 mm), 4.25" closed, and 2.5 oz.

Damn, never occurred to me to cut the bottom of my pants pocket off. Whole new realm of possibilities there.

If you feel the knife is too big for pocket carry, you can always make (or have made) a belt sheath/holster. Easy to access and distributes the weight on the belt. Here's a couple pics - CS XL Voyager and a Spyderco Civilian.

One of these days I'll get up the nerve to ask my significant other to install a zipper at the bottom of the cut off pocket. That way I can carry a big knife when I want to and ,by closing the zipper, use the pocket as a pocket when I want to.
