I like Izula naked.

I don't know why, but for some reason i am STRONGLY attracted to my azula wehn she isn't wearing any 550. Am i alone?

The best use i have found so far for the 550 in the Izula kit is a sling for the sheath. I tried three different wraps and stripped her down every time.
 
small hands, maybe? the added bulk of 550 on the handle fills my hand a lot better than the handle alone.
 
small hands? not really, I can palm a basketball.
 
I personally think its conditioning. You see many wrapped Izula before you buy them, you think bigger is better, and so when you get your Izula the first thing folks do is say thats way too small (never using it naked) and go get some 550 and wrap her up.

I doubt too many people actually tried her out in full form, the angle of the handle with natural position of the wrist for most cutting chores keeps your fingers safe, the size of the handle doesn't put you in danger really at all, So the overall purpose of the 550 cord being wound around the handle, I am left to believe is Personal choice, and / or condtioned responce to a naked blade.

I prefer it unwrapped. It wasn't all that much more comfortable wrapped, in my opinion, and the paracord soaked up a lot of nasty gunk from work, fishing, hunting, etc., that made the Izula rather reprehensible, even to a person like me who works with garbage and sewers on a fairly regular basis.

And how should i adress the S.G.B.? (Standard Grip of Bacon>???) Should i first wrap it in bacon and then finish it in 3m 120, and old canvas ditty bag?
 
I like mine wrapped. Para chord is cheap if it gets to dirty. But if I were cutting guts I probably would keep it naked. The knife is small and the para chord gives a little more to grip on. But different options are good to have.
 
I like my Izula naked, but in a different way. ;)

I like mine wrapped. Gives a lot more grip and it's more confortable. I used it both ways and it's definetly better with paracord. Just my 2 cents, though.
 
I have my izula for about a week and its still unwrapped.
I have bought paracord so i could wrap it but have not yet tried it.
Unwrapped its more compact to carry and its easy to clean.
 
I've held an Izula before, never owned one. I held it unwrapped, and thought it was fine. I probably would prefer wrapping the handle just for a bit of an extra grip, as my hands tend to be a bit moist. I'll be getting my Izula here in the next week or so, so I'll have to try out both ways. Cheers
