each time I carry them. I have a BG-42 and an S90V, both carbon fiber, of course. For a big folder they really carry smaller, probably the light weight. The Military is one of the all time great knives.

I love my CPM S30V Military too. I bought it about (thinks to self and scratches head:confused:)...two weeks ago. Great knife for just about everything. I stopped carrying everything else since I bought this knife. Usually my knives just go into an EDC rotation, but not the Millie, it's held it's ground.:D

Those are the two winners. I hoarded 4 in S90V. Sorry about that.

I bought a Millie when they first came out (lawd when was that now - well over a decade ago?) but the lock wasn't engaging 100% and I didn't like the mild steel screws so I traded it away after a few months of ownership....

Just this week I secured a S30V one in trade and I have high hopes for it. Even better it already has one of STR's clips on it for tip up carry so I cannot see any reason for it not to become a regular part of my daily carry rotation.

Oddly enough, last week I scored a Para-Military as well, so I'll soon have both to compare/

Now I just have to wait for the post :grumpy:

My Para-Military is on the way. It will be my first. I'm thinking about getting the big one too. The waiting part is hard.

The Mili is still a great design. I tried the Manix and a bunch of newer larger Spydercos but the Mili is so light and slim, I use it and carry it instead of leave it at home.

It is the largest knife I will carry. I have a SE one right now that took the place of the SE Civilian I had. It is a more pratical knife yet could still be used for SD with nasty results. A SE Mili would just as much or more damage than a Civilian and it can be stabbed with!

I agree - as much as the Civilian has fascinated me for years, after the Millie came out it just became redundant. I insist on a knife being able to do double duty, ultimately though it will be a tool far more than it is a weapon. And the Millie excels as a tool.

I've been rotating EDC a little this past week. One of the things I noticed I like about the Military is the long handle. Without being overly thick, the way the handle spreads across your entire palm makes it feel more filling than knives with extra bulk.

I've noticed that too . The Military has that long handle that really fills up the length of your palm quite well. Very light knife for it's size and length. Still in my pocket :D.

The millies are great. I got my first one(s) a few months ago. The BG42 and the D2. They're so light, they're easy to carry. The paramilitary comes out in D2 within a couple weeks too.....can't wait

I'm seriously considering buying my first Spyderco (a S30V Military). I have read some posts by those who wish the liners were a little thicker. It's not a real concern of mine, but I am curious what ya'll think.

I know it's a great knife, but if you could tweak the design just a little what would you change, if anything? I don't think anyone was implying that the liner wasn't sufficient, just one of those "more is better" not necessarily needed type things.

Actually, I'm less considering buying a Military as I am anxiously trying to get the extra funds to buy it. Just want to know what people think about the liner lock on this knife and anything else you may want to add.

Thanks :)

It is a great knife and there are other members on here that would agree that the design is flawless. The liner lock is one of the best that I own. Solid lock up and zero blade play. Even when I slowly engage the blade, the liner lock on this knife still does a full lock up. Very slim and lightweight knife for such a work-horse.

I like MY! MILITARYS Better!!!!!!! Great Knife! I think I will buy another soon!

The Military has the best liner-lock on the market.

You'll notice that the lock bar is curved to meet flat on with the angle of the blade tang, which is also curved rather than cut at a flat angle.
In effect the liner sits in a "dish" rather than just sliding along a flat plain.

That said, I still can't wait for Sal to finish designing the "Stop lock", as it's ambidextrous and will make the Military every bit as good, if not better than it would be with an axis lock.

And if you're reading this Sal, I wouldn't mind just getting a caged Ball lock if the Stop lock doesn't look feasible.
