I like stitching!

Thats correct Phil. Works best for me. When I get ready to sitch the sides I apply more glue and use several small finish nails to line up several holes before it drys.

Well, Pat, I was watching very carefully. I'm back into making pouch sheath cases for some of my folding knives. I have been using the drill press with a suitable size drill bit with the end that normal goes into the chuck sharpened to a point and installed with that end down to make the hole. As well I have used a piece of cedar under the leather. Frank

I use one a needle that is one size larger in my drill press. The key for me was to go ahead and run the drill press as oppsed to just to using it as just a press. I had problems with the neede walking on me when the needle wasnt spinning. It dont walk if the drill press is on.

I hate stitching. hate hate hate it. Especially since I got a bunk batch of needles from tandy that constantly snap right at the eye. Seems like someone at the factory in China didn't remember to temper the needles....

Anyway, I like that little press and almost tried something similar a while back but then found something else that also works pretty well. It's just a little drill press accessory for my Foredom, which accepts tiny little drill bits and does a nice, clean, and easy job of drilling stitch holes.

Here's a pic -
