I lost an old knife of my husbands, a Craftsman 95089 folding knife that was his fathers.
I've been told in another forum that it's a Schrade made knife. Things are kind of frosty around here.
Can anyone point me to a source for one of these knives?
I took a box of stuff to goodwill and didn't realize the knife was in there. Goodwill says it's gone. :(

The big online auction site is your best bet...but it will never be "the same" knife...sorry to hear of this misfortune...

I see you've been making the rounds of the knife forums. I googled the part number and it looks just like a Buck 110 to me.

You can easily buy a new Buck 110 but the issue isn't the knife, it's that it was his *father's* knife. A new kmife is just a piece of sharp metal, it won't have the same meaning to him, and if you do the new knife will also bring back memories. Memories of the loss of the original. I'd apologize and move on. He'll eventually screw up and hurt your feelings too, so he won't hold a grudge forever.

It was apparently a Schrade LB7 manufactured for Sears. Those may be easier to find than the original "Old Crafty" model.

OUCH, BeverlyAnn. Sorry to hear of the loss. Which is not to say that similar has not happened before.

Good work, John. An LB 7 would be easier to find on the auction site. BeverlyAnn, Make sure you include "USA" in the search phrase. The current "Schrade knives" are made in China.

If you don't mind a suggestion...if his father has passed on, the perhaps you could get him a new knife, I really suggest the USA made Buck 110 as a reasonable replacement and have it engraved with his fathers name and birth/death dates.

If his dad is still among us, then perhaps the 110, also engraved, perhaps with "with love, Bev"...or however you want to go on that one :)

If you can't get the old one back, then might as well get a new one and make it special in it's own right.

Beverly, No, it won't ever be the same knife - but I think trying to find a replacement to make amends is a terrific idea - after all, you didn't loose the original knife due to bad intentions - it was a mistake. If if was me, I would miss having my Dad's knife, but I would greatly appreciate the gesture of you caring enough to find a replacement. Best wishes to you in your quest. OH

This is a fantastic suggestion. This is the type of thing that would make me feel a bit better were I in your husbands shoes. What a bummer...

That's a shame to lose a sentimentally valuable knife, but I think your husband will appreciate the effort you are putting into sourcing another schrade.
I wonder if you could take out a classified advertisement in your local newspaper asking for the knife? Chances of getting it back are slim, but you never know.

I f I had one, I'd send it to you!!
Good luck finding one.

I know where there is an LB7, as long as it hasn't sold yet. It is at the pawn shop where I used to work. It was there last week. Email me and maybe we can figure something out. Medicevans at gmail dot com.

I have a brand new in clam shell package craftsman lockback with leather belt sheath made in the USA. You can have it if it Will help you out. It looks just like a Schrade LB7 with wood handles and brass bolsters. It's model #95233 on the blade and #95316 on the plastic package. Let me know if it is close enough to the one lost.
