I lost an old pocket knife of husbands late father. Could use all the help I can get

Maybe you could put a sign up in the Goodwill store asking for the return. Specify why.

You never know?

Hello all, I'm just so overwhelmed with you all that I want to cry. I can't even begin to tell you how grateful I am by your responses. As far as the knife offers are concerned, I don't know enough about knives to know the difference between what has so generously been offered and the lost knife. What I do know was it said Craftsman and 95089 on the blade so that's what I'll find for him. I'll keep looking and once again I truly appreciate you all for your responses and your wonderful generosity. What a truly wonderful group of people. Bless you all. BeverlyAnn at yahoo dot com

Did it look like this one? So we can get an idea of the knife

There was one on ebay, I placed a bid but my bid was cancelled, not sure why. Very disapointed it made my day when I thought I had found the exact same knife. I even had a neighbor that said he could clean it up and make it look nice. I'm just heart broken, but I will find one, one of these days. Thank you all for your kind help and support and thank 70chevelless for finding the ebay link for me.
Here is a picture of a Craftsman 95089 knife, Item number: 281186321169

I lost an old knife of my husbands, a Craftsman 95089 folding knife that was his fathers.
I've been told in another forum that it's a Schrade made knife. Things are kind of frosty around here.
Can anyone point me to a source for one of these knives?
I took a box of stuff to goodwill and didn't realize the knife was in there. Goodwill says it's gone. :(

If you didn't know the knife was in the Goodwill box, then how do you know that's where it went ?
Maybe it's still around ?

You guys are all ridicuously awesome. Beverly is not the only one with tearful eyes.

BeverlyAnn wish you the best to find that knife x1000!

BeverlyAnn,

There was a give-away here recently, hosted by our forumite PocketKnifeJimmy, giving away a similar knife.
Here's the thread:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...h-but-it-can-be-yours?p=12738807#post12738807

I was the winner of the give-away, and I imagine that the knife should arrive soon. Is it close to what you're looking for? If so, I'll gladly pass it on to you.
Please send me a PM or an email, and let me know!

Regards,
Alex

Your bid was cancelled when the seller closed the auction before the auction close date/time (price didn't get as high as they wanted) and have now relisted it with a buy it now price of $99.95. I wouldn't buy it at this point due to the seller's unscrupulous tactics.

Kudos to Alex for his generous offer.

Chief,
I never thought about it being an "unscrupulous tactic", I guess I'm just naïve. No, I won't be buying the knife, aside from the seller being not so nice, I just don't have that kind of resources available. If it was in the $15 - $30 range or maybe a little more I would try to buy it. But, such is life, I'll keep looking. 70chevelless found that ebay posting maybe another will turn up somewhere sooner or later. :-)

Thank you Kodachi. And YES they all are "ridiculously awesome".
I can't tell you how this wonderful group of people has made me feel. I don't know what to say except thank you to all.
