And it just happends to be my Queen Gunstock....

It was in my shirt pocket and somehow fell out. Tomorrow I'll have to go check the store where I was and turn the car inside out...

I never knew how much I liked classic looking gentleman's knives untill I got that queen....

This is just a cry out because I'm sad.

Have you ever had something like that happen?

NOPE, never had it happen becaiuse my old man told me when I was a kid never to carry anything in a shirt pocket you give a shiq about, NOTHING !!!
EVERYTHING FALLS OUTTA SHIRT POCKETS !!

Yup I have, about two months ago I was helping my installer fit a screen and I used my nice old Schrade 340T stockman to ream out a screwhole. Put it down, finished with the screen and came back to the office. By the time I figured it out and called the next day, gone. I've bought three "replacement" knives since but I still don't feel any better....that old Schrade had some cool miles on it.

No traditional losses just yet, but I feel for you. Have lost a couple spyderco's though so I know how you feel.

I feel for you. A few years ago in a movie theater, I lost a Queen mini-trapper in 1095 and greenbone. It was a special factory order--that 1095 was something. This Thanksgiving, I somehow lost a Queen Serpentine Jack in ACSB at my in-laws (stayed there for a week).

Those are the only knives I've ever lost. Both Queens. It wasn't just the value of those knives that got to me, but the work I'd done on their edges.

As I wrote, I feel your pain.

yep,I had a Sabre stockman with celluloid/pearl handles that my Dad found in my Grandmothers house after she passed away.28 years later I still feel a tug on my heart whenever I think about it.It wasn't a rare collectable but it was from grandmas.

Sorry to hear it!
I have a Queen gunstock and its one of my favorites. A great knife.
Fortunately they are not too expensive to replace like losing a custom would be.
Hope you find it or some good Samaritan does and returns it to you.

Hi,

Yep, my Queen Whittler tried to go AWOL on me this fall. I knew it fell out of my pocket while I was at the farm. It took 3 weeks before it was found and came home. So I feel your pain. I hope it comes home soon!!!

I sure can relate. Years ago (I cant remember how many), Spyderco had just come out with a new collaboration with Wayne Goddard. My wife and kids bought the large version knife for me for Fathers Day. Although not a traditional knife, I still loved it. Micarta slabs with a clip plain edge. It was from them, and they thought it through to pick that one.

That knife became my EDC. It didn't matter if it was work, or going out, that was my carry. Over time, the end of the pocket clip began to wear on the lining on the inside of my leather jacket. It wore to the point where the lining became frayed. What began to happen was that the pocket clip would hook into the frayed lining and actually pull out of my pocket, at times dangeling from the lining. I should have known to stop then and there. Of coarse I did not, and ultimately lost it. I can't begin to put into words how upset I was with myself for not anticipating the loss once I saw it happening.

Needless to say, I no longer carry knives with pocket clips on my pants pocket.

You live and learn.

At least once.

Probably 10 years ago or so I always carried a little Boker ceramic blade knife in my pocket. Sometimes I needed to enter a room with a 1.5T magnet and this was the only knife I had that was non-ferrous.

Then one day it was nowhere to be found. Searched all over - nothing. So, I got a new one to replace it. About a year later when I was cleaning out the car to sell it, guess what I found under the driver's seat? My long lost little Boker. I still have them both!

I do have to agree with the nothing in shirt pockets comment too. Once I had a phone in my shirt pocket while I was painting the garage. Bent over and - splash! One dead phone. . .

Yeah, well my old man never told me that. So thanks for the lovely response....I know not to do it NOW.

Called the store, they haven't found it. I'm going to turn the house upside down now and my car as well.

Still don't know how I feel about getting a replacement. Somehow I don't think it would be the same.

I know how bad that hurts............ two months ago I was looking for my 2008 Blade Forum slippie to sell it and thought I had lost it after turning my house upside down with no luck. I was heartbroken.............

I just found it tucked waaaaay in the back of my gunsafe yeaterday mroning.................hooray!!!

Losing a nice knife sucks

Congrats on finding it back though!

I'm still hoping it might turn up in the car or something.

My buddy did the same thing last year when we were fishing. He leaned over the side to net my fish, and we heard the splash..

I've only lost one. We were hunting a couple years ago, and I had clipped a new Camo Buck Bantam in my front pocket. I shot a coyote, and when I went up the hill to find it, somehow the knife came out of my pocket. I'll tell you what, camo knives really work. I couldn't find it ....

Lost my JA Henckels Friodur penknife, searched high and low for her then finally just wrote her off. Several months went by and I had forgotten about it and read a thread here about another guy loosing his knife then finding it after searching repeatedly and then super thoroughly. So I searched again with a Surefire flashlight under my truck's seats and found her! The flashlight made all the difference, as I found her where I'm pretty sure I had looked about 5 times.:D

I lost my wave a week or so ago but never a slippie.I have always had an ingrained habit of putting it back in my pocket when I'm done with it.Even if I have to use it again in 5 minutes. The cutoff #.
