I love AG Russell Featherlite styles knives.. so now, Sebenza, Mnandi...

AG has a very good point, if you want REALLY slim and REALLY lightweight (at least on some models) you could consider William Henry. However they lack a pocket clip if that is important to you.

I love that idea.. and I have ZERO use for a pocket clip. Thanks, I am off to Google!

I actually agree with AG and Dave. I don't own any but have handled some of William Henry knives and they don't get much slimmer or lighter. Honestly they are stunning knives. I am not knockin CK knives at all. I just bought one. But if you are looking for ultimate lightweight and quality don't pass by William Henry knives without at least checking them out.
Do you have any gun/knife shows that come near you?? That is where I have gotten to handle a lot of knives mentioned around here without the money to buy them.

Oh and for Dave. I am not saying that the Sebenza isn't heavier. I just know that in my pocket it is perfect for me and while the Mnandi may be lighter the sebenza in my opinion is pretty light in the pocket as well. Plus with blade shapes and sizes I think that i would tend to use the sebenza a little tougher than the mnandi.

I just checked Mr. Russell's site, and I can say that the Henry folders are a bit too fancy. I like super simple looking knives.

I am not quite sure about knife shows around me. I have never really been interested in tending a show.

Any additional info. on where you plan to use this (e.g., office, warehouse), how much abuse it will need to take, preferred price range, what the maximum preferred weight is (these knives range from < 1 oz. to 4-5 ounces). Any addiitonal info will help us to give better input. I have to admit that the posts so far are the same onces I'd recommend.

Truthfully? It will be a pocket queen that I use to flip open in my own private time for my own amusement. Biggest duty it will ever see is opening a box or two. Price... I like the $150 range, but I have no issue with spending $400 on a quality knife that I will love. Weight.. the lighter the better. I mean, under two ounces is phenomenal as far as I am concerned.

Of all the CRK folders I like the Mnandi best , the small Sebbie is impecable - but leaves me cold by comparison . Mine is a relastivley plain African Blackwood scaled example . It is a hell of an EDC , usually siding my pens and mechanical pencils . The little fella is plenty tuff , dont let the elegance foll ya . I also almost invariably EDC a Strider PT , well beloved but for different reasons . I deeply enjoy both approaches to EDC folder designs - they are polar opposites .

Al Mar has some very nice slim lockbacks, like the Eagle and such. BTW, I am going to get an A.G. Russell Featherlite.

Hi, thanks for the post. Can I ask, how thick is the handle of the Mnandi? Does it hinder edc at all? Thanks.

I considered the Al Mar's as well, but didn't really like the thin profile of the blade.

You won't regret it. Awesome awesome knife.

Applejack , the Mnandi is 7/1`6" excluding the clip . It ECD's like a dream , the clip is one of the best in the bussiness , I usually clip mine in my shirt pocket . My shirt doesn't sag under the load. Handle thickness may vary a bit depending on natural material type - ie: something like mammouth bark ivory .

Nice! Thank you!

I have been considering getting a Featherlite but have one question, are these slip joints or do they lock open? If so, what knid of lock?

Thanks, John

John:
I am surprised that no one has told you. This is a true Front-Lock, you lift the button at the front of the handle and press on the back of the blade. One hand closeing.

How about a Spyderco Jess Horn? You even get the new kid on the block steel with it.
