I love it when people sell what they don't know

Nice pickup of knives for a flea market! Around here it is mostly overpriced "collector" slipjoints or total crap imports at the flea markets. Even the antique stores are starting to price their lower-end knives too high. It feels good to me when someone can get a good deal like on those, even if I can't seem to find those types of deals.

Let me take things back to the title of the thread...

When I am interested in something enough to spend my hard earned on it, I tend to make myself an expert on the subject. I find all too often when I go shopping for that "thing", I know much more than even the clerk trying to make the sale. Recently happened when I bought my Rolex Sea Dweller. I assumed someone selling such a high dollar item should know what they are selling. Even funnier(?) is when they try to correct me on specs I rattle off... ie, blade steel or depth rating when it is clearly marked on said knife or watch.

It's in pretty rough condition, as evident in the photo above.

Stuff will get that way when it's dumped all together into the bottom of one of your own pillowcases and banged around in the bed of the escape truck.

You should see the Marlin 1895 that I happened to get back after my house was robbed a few years ago. Magazine tube was so crimped you couldn't get two rounds it in. Turns out that they threw a case of Pepsi on top of it to hide it in the bed of the truck.

That would really grind my gears.

Yeah the BM was in fairly rough condition, like all the others, but a good scrub brush and some soap, and they cleaned up great. A screw came out of the bottom and somebody put a machine screw in place of it. (but who cares I'm happy as hell)

The Blackout looks like it was just used a couple of times and looks almost new.

And yeah the only thing that threw me for a loop was the DH Russell/Groman . Either way I'm happy as a clam about it.

And the best thing was, my wife was out of town and she doesn't know about my haul.
