when polishing a blade, sandpaper is often used....starting off with a coarse grade to smooth down the metal, then working up to the finer grits to achieve the final polish.....
one bad thing about using sandpaper is that a lot of metal has to be removed from the stock and once the polish is complete, the blade is markedly thinner than what you started off with.....
i wanted a satin finish for my CGASH, but the closest thing offered was DC.....
so, i ordered the DC version with the plan to polish it with mother's mag polish after i got it from busse.....
the great thing about using a polishing paste, is that you remove hardly any metal to achieve your final polish.....and the great thing about the DC finish is how even and smooth it is, so sandpaper is not required at all to start out......
