I love my first Sebenza!

It just was too plain for the money, IMO and the sharpness out the box of the Sebenza puts it to shame. It's just a lot prettier knife to me, than the Umnum.
Just depends on what you like, much like everything else.

True. Glad you found one you like!

Really? My experience with and opinions of the Umnumzaan and Sebenzas are completely the opposite of yours. My Sebenzas have been pitifully dull while my Umnumzaan was a razor. And I find the Umnumzaan to be "prettier" than Sebenzas, which I find to be rather plain.

Anyway, congratulations! I'm glad you like it. It's nice to diversify.:)

A plain Sebenza isn't more attractive than a Umnumzaan, IMO but when the handle and blade are polished, leaving the lock bar and clip unpolished. Then add the wood inserts it becomes another story. As for sharpness this Sebenza is as sharp as any folder I've ever bought out of the box.

Sure is and I was a bit worried it would come not so sharp. But, it was very sharp. The sort of sharp where you touch hair on your arm and it pops off right now without touching the skin. The Umnumzaan wouldn't begin to shave out of the box.

very nice i am still saving up for my first sebenza its hard to go from buying $100 to throwing $400 down on a knife but i almost have enough money to get one

not to sound like a jackass bandwagon fanboy but:

I used to feel the same way and was extremely skeptical. Yeah they are expensive, yes other knives slice better (in my opinion).

But overall form and function...for a non weaponized folder...nothing beats the small sebenza for me. How easy it sits in my pocket, the amount of blade I get for the size of the handle, the feel. I love it. Honestly, I don't carry other knives anymore.
