....why do I usually grab my GB2?? Anybody else do this?

yep...i feel better using my 2 cause its a current model and i can get another easier than a 1 and without paying out the nose.

put the thick liners of the 1 on the 2 and its the perfect knife.
 
Luckily I have two GB1s so using one of them is not an issue for me, you are onto something , but I think there's more to it I can't explain. +1 on the thicker liners.

Bought a Military model back when they first came out (wish I still had it) but never bought another in all those years until 2016. Really wasn't interested in non-America knives. However I kept hearing how good the Bradley's were and made the jump in 2016. After seeing the quality of the products and the owners, I really got bit by the Spyderco bug and now own 6!

If I didn't already have a 1, I'd get a 2 and be just fine with it since it's mainly the steel and lock combo I'm after. The heavy liners are just icing, but not necessary. A 3" version would be great.
 
My 1, from the first production run with full liners, is making the trip from Virginia to my place next week. Given the choice between purchase of the 1 and 2, it was a no-brainer to go for the 1. I can, and will, pick up the 2 later on.
 
The GB1 is my favorite Spydie. And I have a bunch of PM2 sprints/exclusives.
 
Jpm2 A 3", that's a very interesting thought! How about a super sized version too? Might need to come with a factory kydex belt sheath with a friction fit.

I only have the GB2 and a 940-1. The GB2 sees all the pocket time unless the pants are too thin for it.

Wait a minute, a 3" GB would create a huge battle for me when I go into the office...my ZDP Delica would not stand for it!! It's already green!

i really like the fact that GB1 has beef'er liners that gives it that click when opening!although a bit heavy in the pocket,i just prefer the one over 2.:)

Yes but also metal handles and bearings, unfortunate deal breakers for me.
 
I've thought about and wanted a 3" version for a while. 3" is my ideal EDC size, and I love the GB platform. I haven't pulled the trigger on one despite everyone raving about it, but if it was 3" I'd definitely own one.
