I love my new ET!!

I've had my E.T. for about a month now and have so far been able to keep from cutting myself. Then again, I haven't tried anything too dangerous with it either.

I held off on getting one for quite a while because I did nick myself the first time I handled one in the store, so I have been bitten, just not by my own. Yet. ;)

Sorry to hear about the blade touching the spring. Blech.

After reading how lots of people were nicking themselves, I decided to play it safe and make the first 600 or so openings as slow and deliberate as possible to get my fingers used to the idea of clearing the blade's path.

That was a tough four minutes.

I'd like to see more Kershaw blades featuring the Toggle Lock - maybe with some G-10 scales, though, to beef them up. Same 13C26 steel, though.

Finally , after pining for one of these sine they were released , I bought one.

Local old school hardware store has a 20-25% off Kershaw and Buck , so scored mine for $59.

But... after opening and closing it several times , I noticed the blade has that little nick in it from contact with the spring , gotta send it in.

Doh!

Their Customer Service is top notch though.

While checking some other Kershaw knife actions on YouTube, I caught the video of the E.T. Although I generally prefer fairly simple, basic knife shapes/designs, I must say I've become intrigued.

Since this particular model has so many moving parts, how do they hold up over time? Is this knife simple to keep clean, and do the pivot screws remain as tight as you want, or loosen over time above normal designs?

Lastly, has anyone used it for EDC, and how's it hold up?
(lately, I'm becoming somewhat obsessed with some of the Kershaw designs once more!)

It's a great EDC and the pins and such have held up to being sprung open and shut thousands of times.

That's what I did.

First time I saw one in person I had to see how it worked, but that was all I was interested in. I didn't like how it looked and basically forgot about it.

But, I just had to keep taking a peek at it every time I was at the knife shop. Eventually one ended up in my collection. I have no intention on carrying it as I find it far too bulky for my edc tastes, but I definately like playing with it while sitting at the computer.

I place my pinky on the edge of the pocketclip to open and close the ET. Keeps it out of harm and makes it feel like a valued member of the hand.

Mine has the same little notch on the cutting edge...just barely noticeable.

I guess I should maybe email them about that.

Do some of the early ones have this problem or something? Mine was made in March 2007...
