I love presents!!

Well, we will find out now won't we. Looks like I will be shipping the BK7 back to KA-BAR for consideration. In the meantime, I will be ordering yet another Becker today. :D More than likely a BK15

It will be interesting to see if you get a different blade or one repaired and sharpened by Toooj.
If it's redone by the man himself, I don't know that I'd be able to use it. I'd want to keep it pristine.:D

A 15? Good God man, get the 9! If you "has a little mall ninja" you really need the 9. It's just, well, astonishing to hold in your hand - you grab it and start looking for stuff to chop - I sliced tomatoes with mine the other day just because...I have had a lot of knives over my lifetime, but because of this forum, my first big fixed blade was the King. I could quote someone else in this group, but you already know that trope. Never will anyone utter the words "I never shoulda got that 9"..... But maybe the 15 would be a good second choice..yaknow, until you do the inevitable...

Trust me, the King is in my future. :) I was told not to buy it by my wife. She probably has something planned.

Look at what was waiting for me when I got home from the gym. Ka-bar sent me a new BK7 to replace the one with the wonky tip. The EsKabar followed me home from the knife shop. They called me to let me know they had it. They tried charging me $63 for it, but I talked them down to $50. A little more than I wanted to pay but on par with most places.

A beautiful job on that knife, CDKJudoka. Perhaps my D2 Ka-Bar fighter needs some competition in the medium-blade position.

Thank's St. Loke. After stripping it, it makes a damn good kitchen knife.

Making some lamb kabobs.

It's gonna get a nice patina on it's own if I keep using it for kitchen stuffs. :D

The new one looks good. Glad Ka-Bar took care of you on that one! It looks like they didn't take the swedge down far enough and just sharpened it all the way up past where the tip should be.

congrats on the new steel CDKJudoka. Yet another great example of KA-BAR's customer service. BTW i see you are from Hicksville. I grew up in Seaford and moved down to hot as b@lls FL in 2000. Nice to see another from the island.

I never really paid much attention to the 7 but i must say she turned out pretty hot when you stripped her;)

Edit: on a side note, how are you liking that ka-bar tanto? I was wondering about getting one of those eventualy for sd/combat-oriented mall-ninja tacticoolness:cool:

Nice, I grew up in Long Beach and moved all over the place, including Florida. We are selling the house and moving to VT though. Gotta get off of this island.

Thanks, she does look better nekkid. :) As for the Ka-bar Tanto, I absolutely love it. The only thing I don't like about it is the serrations towards the bottom of the blade, but I can deal. I actually used that as a camp/hiking knife for a little while and it never let me down, even when batoning through some hard wood.

Great, thanks. Guess i'll have to get me a tanto then. Just gotta buy a BK4 and -5 first. And a 9. And a 2. And a 16.
I think my wife's gonna divorce me soon :P

Just do what I do. When your wife buys something she doesn't need, tell her that you would like to order another Becker. :) It will either keep her from spending more money than necessary, or she will let you buy the knife. It's win/win. The BK 5 is next on my list and then maybe the BK17. The BK9 is there, but I am not allowed to buy that one.

I did that the last time. She spendt about $150 on decorative in-the-house thingys, and i ordered a new sling bag and an eskabar.
The problem is i'll be getting my handgun license this fall, and that means i'll most likely be throwing about $1500-2000 at a couple of guns and related doo-dingys so i better lay low when it comes to "knowing my rights"...

Nice. What are you looking at when you get your license? Get a nice Sig and spend the rest on beckers and ammo. :P

I'm looking at 2 S&W M&P's. cal.22 for target practice and 9mm for when i need (want) that little extra punch.
And i'm required to have a bolted down, lockable steel gun cabinet.
The guns alone go for about $1500 here. Then there's the cabinet, holsters, ammo, maybe some internal upgrades etc...

Were you going to use it? Kinda of a bummer but not sure if i would send it in lol.

That makes sense.

It all worked out in the end. They sent me a new one with a proper tip. :)
