Original Post:

Since this knife has come out I have wanted to get it. I put it off and then the price increase happened and I decided not to get one (not really looking to start that debate - just letting you know what took me so long). I was looking for a big folder that sliced well and this knife kept coming back up for me. I ended up picking one up and I'm really excited to get it.

Update:

The knife arrived today and as soon as I pulled it out of the box I felt like I was holding something special. This is a great design and it fits my hand like a glove. I love the broad blade - really glad I picked this one up!

@Sal Glesser you hit a homerun with the Shaman. I'm excited to see the sprint runs released in this model.

The scales are my favorite on a Spyderco thus far. The sculpted G10is just fantastic. Some will say it’s slick. But I absolutely love the contours. Fits the hand so naturally. This is one of my favorite spydies to date.

Coming to visit? I bet she ends up staying for a long while. It’s one of my favorite spydercos. Built like a tank but handles like a Vette

I'd like to try one but think it might be a bit too big for my taste and I really don't know when I'd carry it.

You may be right.

I'd like to try one but think it might be a bit too big for my taste and I really don't know when I'd carry it.

I like a bigger knife - especially on the weekends.

I'd wait for a sprint run or dealer exclusive.

If I like this platform I'll be sure to pick a sprint up. The CF/S90v Sprint doesn't interest me much. Cruwear/Micarta? A must have.

Yeah it feels great in hand. My fiancee who isn't into knives (but doesn't dislike them), the first thing she said when I handed it to her was "ooohhh the handles feel sooooo nice in your hand"

Updated the OP - I got the knife in and I absolutely love it. Killer design.

Well crap. I keep hearing good things about this one. But resisted til now because it just looked a bit thick, and I already have too many knives in a similar size range. But these stupid threads don't help me any.

What is the overall thickness? How does it carry?

My thoughts exactly. In my opinion, a knife that exudes so much toughness ought to have a sprint which capitalizes on that trait. To that end, I would love to see a G10 or Micarta handle in a dark green or brown. Then give it a tough blade steel like Cruwear or M4 with dlc. Save the CF/S90V for something more gentlemanly, lol.

I'd buy that without question. Yet with all these great pictures, I might not be able to wait for a sprint.

One of the main reasons I've been a holdout on it thus far. The other being the exchange parting me with my wallet these last couple of months.

I'll also second a sprint for something other than CF/S90V. There's nothing particularly wrong with that combination for myself usage wise, it's just that I'd rather see something that's "a little farther off the beaten path" so to speak. +1 for a Cruwear and Micarta combo!

It's much thinner than I anticipated and carries well.

I agree completely. CF/S90v doesn't do this knife justice.

I tell you, the Delica and Para3 are my top favorites, but this is in the top 3 and maybe equal too my number 1. I like the size and the Bruteness of the knife. Somehow it remains delicate and easy to manage. I dont even notice it on my pocket.

I want another and haven't even really broken this one in yet.

• My thoughts exactly.

• This, on the other hand, is encouraging.

Sprint please! :)
