I love to fidget

All good points! I think I am kidding myself though!

All I can think of now is the I was "warned that I would go blind" but I didn't have much success there either! 😆 I think I am probably hopeless on this issue! I have several knives but will likely just rotate them a lot, and use this as an excuse to buy more knives just in case so I will wear each less, and keep fidgeting! If they wear out then I will buy fix/buy more. I basically realize that all my cherished goods will one day belong to someone else and likely be sold at a yard sale for 10% of what I paid for it! I think if I owned the gun Wyatt Earp used at the OK Coral, I would still just HAVE to shoot it, even if it dropped in value by a million as a result!😂 "Destroy it to enjoy it!" Thanks everyone!

I just lubed up my new XR Seal and it flips and pulls the blade back in a most addicting way. Love the grip on the lock. Even better than before. Can't see it wearing out either! 🥳

I wore out the torsion bar in my CRKT Cryo, and the omega springs in my Benchmade Mini Freek. So, I gave up carrying folders and now pocket carry my Bark River Mini Fox River, which is great for fidgeting without having to worry about any mechanical failures — just toss it up while imparting a lazy one-revolution back spin and catch the handle.

OTF's, auto's and assisted will wear out the fastest. For me, I'm gonna carry a knife anyway, now I don't have to carry a knife and a fidget toy. Frees up pocket space. When I'm wearing my authentic Rick James leather pants, pocket space is at a premium.

I say “figit“ away! It’s good practice for quick deployment when you need it most. Well worth the infinitesimal wear it puts on a knife.

Do you not drive your car because it will put wear on it? Do you avoid practicing with your firearm because of the wear it puts on the components?

Knifes are tools that should be used, practiced with and maintained (my opinion). I don’t understand folks who buy them to keep in boxes only to take them out occasionally to look at them.

I'll admit to having more "flickety-flick" fun with my Mini-Bugout than I should.
.
... But if I'm willing to pay for the repairs: no worries! 👍
