I made a bowie, a big one!

Guys thanks so much for the kind and encouraging comments. It feels great to read them.

I also welcome criticism or negative comments. Those kinds also push me to do better.

In that case, I think the spanish notch would have been more complementary if the edge of the blade dropped from the ricasso a bit more. As it is, the notch doesn't really add anything to the knife, not that I think it takes away much either.
Overall, the lines, like on all your knives are sleek and conservative and flow nicely. But the addition of such a flagrant embellishment like a spanish notch tells me that there is a wild man inside you wanting out...:D

Beautiful knife Ray!!! :)

It seems you've built a following with your no-nonsense field grade pieces, but there's no doubt you should have a following for super clean, high end pieces as well.

Lorien, thanks for the comment. This was the first Spanish notch that I've ever done. I almost didn't do it but I'm glad I did. I think you're right that it would have been better if it was bigger as in a more dropped edge. However, I do also like the way it looks as is and I don't like edges that are dropped too much. I'm making another bowie as soon as I have time and it will have an edge that is in line with the ricasso with no drop.

Nick and Eric, thanks!

Extremely clean and well executed. Especially the Spanish Notch, so often they are "over stated" IMO.
