I had to break down and make myself a few new tools for the shop, a hot cutter and a hot punch made from a couple old ball peens, and a hawk from ¼ by 1-½ inch 1065... Hey! I’ve been good! :)

(Todd took that pic of me and Jeffro.) :)

I love your forge setup, it must get hot there in the summer. That is a nice tomahawk, and the hot cutter is like it's little brother :)

Sweet tools ya made their Tai.

Don't get too close to the forge with that ax, it wouldn't burn for too long , but it would burn HOT. I think G chord is very cool.

I tell people that I only know 3 chords, don't get me wrong, they're real good chords, and G happens to be one of them. :D I'd tell you the other 2, but then I'd have to kill you. (C & D)

Larry, I'm sure Tai would be happy to teach you E as well. ;)

Cool stuff Tai. I may bring a few ball-peen hammers over. :D

Nice tools Tai. Do you have to play music to fire when the moon is not in the right position? I may could get more work completed if it works. I see from the pic it really makes the fire dance.

Tai,

Are you firing that forge with Mesquite chunks? It looks like Mesquite in the wheelbarrow. I wonder how many neat knife handle sized pieces might have gone into heating steel.

I get the most mileage out of teh Bar-E and bar-A myself (although modulating the D can be used to goo effect:D )

Yes, the hawk is one of the "tools". Todd skedaddled with my old hawk and Jeff skedaddled with my shop knife. I need the hawk to split wood for the forge and to decapitate rattlesnakes around the shop. Those pieces of wood in the wheel barrel are salvaged construction lumber. I use it to forge with and heat treat sometimes. :)

I sing to all my tools and my whole shop, not just the forge... never pay much attention to where the moon is though... except when I'm singing to a meteoritic billet. :)
