i was out at my friends a few weekends ago showing her husband how i grind my knives. she came outside to check out the progress and i showed her the knife. i asked if she wanted a new kitchen knife and since she likes to cook her answer was yes of course.
thanks. i still have to make a knife to raise money for the many bills they have. i'm still trying to decide on what to make. bastid sent me some sweet tiger maple slabs that will go on it. the day i ground this knife her husband watched so he could try his hand at making a knife. i started the grind so he could have a flat spot to start out on. i had to correct him a few times but he soon had the hang of it (sort of). when the knife was almost done i took over and finished it up so he wouldnt mess it up. i just finished the handle and sharpening which took a while even with a coarse belt. at least i know it will hold an edge for a long time.
