My meaning was that the TriAD takes on all comers and holds the title, but if anyone could make a better lock, it would be Jerry Busse. :cool:

Busse does fixed blades like no one else and is champion in their own division. I just selfishly wanna see this clash of cutlery Titans.

I'd compare it to when a prizefighter has got no serious challengers in his own weight class and has to either move up or down a class to get some real competition. I grew up watching Tommy Hearns, Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler and others do this quite often. The results were nearly always EPIC!!!

I mean it's a company that makes the product doing the test. The same company that tells you if you do it, it voids the warranty. I'm not impressed. If you show me what your knife is "capable of" and I can't do the same what's the point?

I feel like one company has been trying from the beginning to equal busse and has still come up short. Sure that company may boast a lot but Jerry is still on top.

Oh, you are free to do the same test, and replicate it. I can tell you I have a few locks that won't pass any of the tests, including the lightest bump on the spine.

I've found no lock as positive or strong as the Triad.

That said, I still regularly carry a spyderco, with a lock that is not nearly as strong or secure.

When car company launched a new model they need to do destructive crash test too. But that doesn't mean it is how the product is intended to be use.

Besides, Busse will have a hard time inventing a better lock mechanism of what Demko has done.

Actually I doubt we gonna see a production folder coming out from Busse in the next 10 years.

High end folding knife require very high precision machining and high attention to detail in various of area. That isn't sound like something Busse is known for...
 
That friction folder is very cool. I carry a Busse every day but most of my cutting is done by a folder.

Jerry has an issued US Patent for a lock mechanism. AFAIK, it was used on the Busse folder prototypes that were made.
