...and ordered a BK9 and a BK21 from Tomar's as my intro to Beckers.

I blame it all on my fixation with big knives in general - especially kukris - and CM_Rick's youtube channel.

You need something for small work... Don't forget that a BK11 will fit in the small sheath part of the BK9 front pocket.
Or, the BK13 which is supposed to go in there, though smaller, is now made of 1095 cro-van.
Welcome aboard, it doesn't end.

I knew the 1st reply was going to recommend yet another one. All downhill from here!

Thanks for the welcome :).

So why wait for the go ahead, just buy your next one!

Lol

Hahaha. Well, you see...I just bought other knives as well and an expensive sharpening rig. This would not deter the child in me to go fully broke(/retard? :P), but, on top of that, I have that wonderful something, that brings both joy in life, as well as certain limitations...called (drum roll)...WIFE!

Simple solution. Get her one too. My wife loves the 15 I got her. And the Ka-bar kukri, for that matter. The 5 and 15 are discontinued, so if you dont get one soon, you'll never get to enjoy that trailing point goodness, after all!

Anyone can see how close you came to disaster. Anyone can see that your purchase was very measured and weak.
Yes, the proof is there. You did a stupid thing to prove an irrelevant point. And repeatability is key. Hopefully no one else is dumb enough to try this again. This test repeated by 10 people would result in disaster.

:D congrats on the new steel!

Not even pink scales convinced her. I'm working on it.

Haha, golden! Thanks!

What about custom wood scales?

Well, I just convinced her she should keep her SAK handy when she's traveling, never know when you could use one. Generally speaking, there are places in Europe (where I hail from) where people, maybe even more than in US, simply don't get the obsession with knives and I, with my arsenal, would be labeled as "dangerous" :). So, living in a country that the knife culture is next to inexistent (I don't mean the past, when it very much was so, but in the eyes of most "modern" people) I'm glad she just makes big eyes when another chopper shows up and may want to check "how heavy it is". Probably handing her over a piece of meteorite would yield the same reaction, it's just so..."extraterrestrial" to her, especially since hatchets and axes are used traditionally in the woods...common knowledge...big knives are just some novelty.

Therefore, I am working silently and diligently :).

Nope. Prolly a bit more than I will need anytime soon, and then there is the wife. That thing is pretty big and I can't just stash it in a drawer like the others.

I can't blame you; the last time I tried to stash my better half in a drawer as soon as the postman rang at the door (having a new blade for me), didn't work too well for me either...

This one is epic, Slice. You probably got it word for word. Funny how well it fits in here, too.

To OP, man that's an awesome, powerhouse of a first purchase!!! Just go ahead and get those checked off the list right away. I can dig that. Previous advice on a sidekick is good. 11s & 16s are perfect partners to those blades. Welcome, but beware... we have a special kind of crazy in here. It's extremely contagious.

Thanks for the fair warning!

Saw your BK21 review, said "That's it! I'm getting one!"; weren't many around at that time, although even now there are like 2-3 more on Youtube :).

Besides the scare with the...experiment the other day...you almost gave me another one with that review, almost thought you were gonna throw new blade into that tree...had to recheck the channel, yo make sure I'm not on WeAllJuggleKnives...

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of throwing knives. Lol. Glad you enjoy my work. Make sure to watch my video called "chop chop chop". It sheds some more light on the 21.
