I may have to retire now....from CR collecting that is....

My grail right now is a Box Elder Mnandi assuming I like the model. I'll know tomorrow when I pick up my Lignum Vitae version from the P.O.

My grail as I type this would be a small damascus Insingo with bark Mammoth Ivory inlay. Anybody got one they want to sell me? :)

Steve all I can say is that is one smoking CRK, extremely nice snag.

Congrats on scoring one of your grails!

It sure is a beautiful design.

One of my grails would be a large handmade Sebenza.

Doesn't mean I'll die happy, but I would like to get a nice set of large and small Sebenzas, and an Mnandi. Damascus blades, gold thumbstuds, and mammoth ivory inlays.

Yep, I'd EDC them ;).

Not really grails, but I've been looking for them for a while. Small and large regular Native graphics; small and large classic or 21 small and large desert ironwoods.

Shoot me an email....I can lead you in the right direction...I think.....

That is a great find for any Chris Reeve collection since only 21 were made. You can't go wrong with that knife no matter what you paid for it (with in reason) there is always a good market for the really rare Chris Reeve items. Do you have a story on how you were able to find it? A lucky and smart move on your part to add that to your collection.

That's an amazing find! Words simply can't express how jealous I am...congratulations! If you don't mind me asking, what is the going rate for one of these anyways?

is that a 21st anniversary classic?

Yes, it is #14 of 21 Special Edition Sebenzas CR made in 2005 to celebrate 21 years as a knifemaking company ( I think). My collecting goals are really focused on pre-2000 Unique Graphic Sebenza's, but this one is just special in its own right. I've been looking for one since I saw Fooj's and StJames' a couple of years ago.

Ahhh! I almost bought that last week when it was still for sale. Glad, very glad, that you got it! :)

Well, all I can say is thanks for passing. Did you see the other grails they have in stock? A bit more than I can afford, but WOWSER! Think Gold Coins....

... Do you have a story on how you were able to find it? .

Not really, other than having to FORCE myself to sit sideline for all the recent Sebenza trading that's been going on! You know - waiting for something special. I do habitually browse through a couple of dozen online custom knife stores every week to see if something cool pops up. It did.

...If you don't mind me asking, what is the going rate for one of these anyways?

I will say that I didn't pay as much as I thought it was worth. The only other 21st Anniversary Seb I've ever seen go up for sale was over a year ago on Ebay. It went for around $1500 IIRC. I didn't pay that much.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'll post some pictures when it arrives.

Of course, the market swings widely for such a small number of potential buyers, sellers, and material. Having said that, one isolated data point is the 21st Anniversary Sebenza I sold for $2000. These went for a pretty high price when they were sold as new. Was it $1021? Not unusual for successful collectibles to go for significantly more than twice the initial cost. The initial cost, coupled with their rarity and superb design and execution (no pictures I've ever seen do the actual knives justice -- they're a jaw dropper when you examine them in person), makes these things highly valued. From the looks of it, my buddy DallasSTB got a screamin' deal on his!

My grail is a large regular annual sebenza with micarta inlay!! CRK's.....please make it!

Pictures up in the sticky at the top. My poor photographic skills do not do this knife justice by a long shot. As brother Fooj said, it is simply jaw-dropping in person, and I'm humbled to be able to have it.
