I was happily checking out the spacers on some of my fixed blades today until it occured to me that I couldn't remember which of two (a 102 or 118) went back in my twin set sheath with the 103. :o They both seem to fit fine.

The sheath isn't stamped on the back at all, so that's no help.

Both match the 103, three line stamp with four spacers. I suppose either would be correct as either a model 104 or 115 but I'd sure like to keep the original two together. Any ideas? Would the unstamped sheath be a clue?

Is the twin sheath flat and stitched all the way around or is it a fold over? DM

I can give you a simple answer: Yes! :) ;) :)

Plumber, You can't go wrong. As I know Buck
uses the same sheath for both combinations.
take what you like, it will be correct .

Now you can decide. I am snoopy what you'll do. :D :D :foot: :)

Best,

Thanks! I guess now when someone asks if I have a 104 or a 115 twin set, I can say yes to both. I have a two for one! ;)

What I found in my notes from a comversation w/ a long time member at the 20yr. Reunion was; that the first/early 104's were not stamped (meaning the sheath).
Still, I'm not sure if your sheath is one of the early ones as different patterns were used. DM

Plumberdv,

Hope it is alright to bump up this old thread.? (I hope you are still here.?)

I joined today because I am interested in the 104, 115, and 117 sets, and, was researching them.

Nice Set.

Best Regards

No, Stan, Plumberdv is not here anymore. He passed away in December 2013. I / we miss him.

Dave, rest in peace.

I realize new members don't know what has happened. I will not comment in this! Start a new topic... DM

Stan, As David suggests,

We haven't had a good thread on fixed blades sets in a while. Start your own new thread and ask the questions you would like answers for or photos you would like to see. There are several folks that have good collections of sets and take good photos.

Wow......! What a 1st post!

I stopped (try to) using "always" and "never" when I was about 30 years old---several decades ago. So, it is "unlikely" I will do this again!?

In retrospect, this has been a strange (and humbling) experience. Notice I edited my post a few minutes after posting. I removed the entire 3rd line (which was entirely appropriate), and replaced it with "Nice Set." (And, not sure why.?) It turns out, doing so was very appropriate.

Plumberdv, RIP.

Best Regards,

No worries from this end. Just jump in and post some questions. Plumber was a very active long time member, he went from not knowing much and not being a photographer to a person of knowledge and near the end a solid photographer. He liked big bikes also.
People that posted several years ago still remember his contributions and the joy he expressed over Buck knives. So, if you bumped his thread you weren't bumping someone no one wanted to read again. But, now let everyone make friends with stan-1, likely the people with series 100 sets would enjoy a good session for showing what they have.
