I might be done here?

Knife efficiency and practicality are only part of Bladeforums, and not a significant part, or the sole reason why most people post here, I would guess. I think most people post here because they like talking about knives, reading about knives, whatever that may be - technical stuff about knives, other peoples experiences and opinions, knife reviews, general knife talk..

I say no reason left to be here, time to move on to something else that sparks your interests. Head over to the AR15 sites and spend some real money tricking out a short barrel rifle. You can easily drop 3K before your first trip to the range.:D

Why not leave? I find the opportunity to learn something new worth the price of admission. Then there's the chance to talk with others of the same knife outlook. And finally there's the chance to contribute to the general thoughts and opinions. Oh well. If you don't appreciate it here, then go, have a wonderful time elsewhere.

First of all, I am not trying to be mean or out of line, but if you have to think out loud about a decision to leave a forum, and then start a thread asking the members what they think of the idea, well then that's kinda like what those old clocks used to say when the little bird came out.....

I say you leave, find some inner peace. Learn to make decisions about your hobby's without the approval or suggestion of others, and then try the forum thing again.

This is strange. I am waiting for a thread where someone want's the forum to decide what flavour of ice cream to eat....

Did I not just post an apology for a wasted thread and that I'm staying?

Yup. But I still don't get why you need member approval or opinion to decide to stay or go?!?!
That just seems like something we do ourselves, like go to the bathroom when we get that urge....

Maybe it's me......

No, its not just you. Honestly when I see threads like this I often question the motives. The way I was looking at it, with the limited amount of posts I didnt know who he was and I doubt many did in the first place. So who are any of we to say yay or nay? Weird thing is that these types of "make my mind up for me" threads do pop up with a frequency that is puzzling.

I don't see the sense in "leaving" a forum, so much as just visiting less frequently. I mean, would you actually request that your account be deleted, and make a conscious effort never to enter the forum URL or click on a link back to it while searching for something knife-related? I've sort of drifted away from forums whose content no longer held my attention, but leaving was never a concrete decision.
