I might of met the ultimate Bagwell fan :)

Thank you very much my friend,i am here thanks to you!!!!!!!!
I never speak in a forum or something similar,its dificult in spain to find people who speak the same knife-languaje and knife- culture like here.most people in my country thinks bagwell is a piece of the car blowing when you have an accident and a damascus blade is damaged and ugly full of oxid.

Thanks, Joe--I really like that knife.

I like the utility of that blade length and the way the length/angle of the swedged clip presents the point;

I like that the edge is in-line with a ricasso wide enough to support a finger when choking up;

I like that the butt is shaped for comfort, to tuck into your palm or strike with the heel of your hand to start the point into resistant materials;

I like the bit of "bird's beak" at the bottom of the butt to keep your hand from slipping off when wet and offering something to tug on when the blade binds in something;

I like what looks to be a mortised stag handle with hidden tang (?) and enough natural texture for traction/security;

I like that the guard isn't too long or pointy but gives ample protection.

Obviously, that knife is a user built by someone who knows knives intimately and uses them a lot. Super, super piece--congratulations, Johnny. :thumbup:

Sounds like that piece may have been made right about the time Bill and his 3 amigos founded the ABS. Now wouldn't it be trick if that was on his belt when they met to sign the charter? :cool:

BTW, is Bill a lefty? The sheath made me wonder.

Hello Johny and welcome.
Yes, one of the goals of the CKCA is to bring custom knife collectors from around the world together. We currently have members in 20 countries.

Thanks Lorien

That's the one in the bunch that immediately caught my eye Joe.

Speaking to Johny's remarks about Bill Bagwell's fame in France and especially the town of Thiers, here’s a snippet from a little bio I saved off the web awhile back:

“In September 1995, Bagwell attended the prestigious Paris Knife Show, where one of his Damascus Bowies won the award for the best fixed-blade Damascus knife at the show. The following spring he was commissioned to go to Thiers, France, and conduct a forging and knifemaking demonstration by the Thiers Department of Commerce and Industry.”

Interesting stuff. :cool:

If anyone are interesting in the knife festival of thiers 2012 i can send the days and the imformation that i can find.
Every year are about 150 tables,most from france, then some of holland escandinavia,japan,tcheck republick,rusia,argentina,spain,belgium,switzerland,usa,no factory knives
normaly is a week end of may (saturday rain,sunday sun)
then in august is anothes knife show in nontron,nice medieval village in france too this is more cool less solemne than thiers,this is in the street but is like yours reendevous but in the old european tast,lots of "motherfuckers" forging in every corner,fred perrin and elsa fantino forging and throwing knives in other corner,nice meeting guys.
If you thing in august french hollydays is a good idea,wives can shooping and nice wines,cheeses and foods.
Think about it.

I would really enjoy that and maybe some day my friend

Here is a pic from Johny who did some bird hunting this morning
