I must defend myself

R.W. Clark,
As you know, we get the odd troll now and again. Their whole reason for being is to disrupt and cause negative feelings among the good folk who post regularly.
Sick people like that have a warped need to gain a feeling of superiority by making others feel bad. In truth, they are often sad, miserable and friendless people looking to drag others into their imprisoned world of self pity by lashing out with whatever means is available to them.
What better means to do that than the computer?
He can sit his pitiful homophobic butt at a terminal and spread dissention and hatred without leaving the comfort of his cell.

He'll be banned soon enough, as soon as Spark gets to his messages.

Leaving on account of the troll gives the troll the feeling he/she has won.
I would implore you to please not let the little troll win.
This forum benefits greatly from the wisdom and emperical knowledge knifemakers bring to it.
To lose that would be a tragic loss brought about needlessly.

First of all, what does Sal Glesser have to do with this rant? Second, are you too feebleminded to make your point cleanly?

Sounds like someone got the keys to the SUV taken away.

I've reported two of his threads. And frankly if these are not deleted soon, I am just going to pull up stakes and head out.

Sit tight. The moderator of this forum is in the process of moving his household. He's offline. Spark's gotta take care of this one and he's a busy guy.

We don't usually delete threads since, as my sainted father used to say before he met Ghin Chin, "nothing is completely useless; it can always serve as a bad example." Ghin he pronounced "completely useless."

Furthermore, if there ever is any question about why an individual was terminated, we'd like to preserve the evidence.

Every once in a while, I'll wake up at about 2am and be unable to get back to sleep. I've learned that the only solution is to get up and do something for an hour or so. Often, that's surfing. One night, this happened. I surfed to BF.C and found a new thread in the balisong forum just minutes old from a new member just registered. It was rather, shall we say, "Adult Oriented." I noticed that this person's profile credited 18 posts. At the time, we had 18 forums. A quick look around confirmed what I suspected: the same thread was in every forum. I'm only a moderator on the balisong forum, so I couldn't do anything about the other forums. But, I have Spark's private e-mail address. So, I e-mailed him hoping he'd get to it first thing in the civil AM. He e-mailed back a few minutes later thanking me for interrupting his work and telling me that he'd taken care of the problem. It was, at this point, that I realized that Spark is not, in fact, human. He is, in fact, a robot. Mike Turber built him from leftover parts of broken Microtech Halos. What mother would name her child "Spark" anyway? In this case, we did delete the threads, but it was a bit of an extreme case.

This will be taken care of. Just be patient. Remember: Swim at your own risk. There is no lifeguard on duty.

And with that, another one goes on the banned list....

Sorry guys, had to blow away my laptop last night and I'm in the process of reinstalling all my software now...
