Stock removal is what I'll be doing now.

I looked for a sticky or guide which I'm sure exist

Best place to buy and quantity!

Thanks,Norsewolf

Have you tried using the forum search function? Or Google?

I've never come across hard and fast answers to the question. I used to buy the cheap ones grizzly sells but I recently started getting the Norton Norzon belts from my local Grainger. I like them quite well, but the price is slightly higher than I would prefer. I usually use 60 or 80, 120, 240, 320 and 6000.
Try searching a little harder, there's tons of opinions out there and this has been asked many times.

Call Tru Grit and they will help you out.

To get you started.

VSM ceramic in 60 grit
VSM ceramic in 120 grit
3m trizact gator in 240 grit(a65)
3m trizact gator in 400 grit(a45)

For a nice satin finish thats all you need. Hog with the 60, clean up with the 120, finish with 240 and 400.

I order from trugrit as well. Solid guys who ship honestly before you make your order it feels like. I live in Colorado, and I ordered 40 belts yesterday, and they will be here tomorrow. Thats service.

Those are the four I would recommend, the vsm's arent as good as the cubitron 2's but they are 80% as good while being 1/3rd the price. The Trizact gators are the best finishing belts I have used. They last FOREVER as long as you use them on the flats, if you use them on corners they will get beat up.

Get yourself some cheapy Aluminum Oxide belts too, 120-220-400 would be good for handle work.

I've been getting my belts from Phoenix Abrasives. They have an extensive list of belts, but they are not listed on their website. You need to email them, and they will send you a list. Belts are about $2 a piece and have been grinding well.

Rough shaping: 36 grit blaze
Rough Grind: 60 grit blaze
Refined Grind: 120 grit blaze
Next step: 65 micron 3M Cubiton
Final step: 45/30 micron 3M Cubitron

All are available at Trugrit.com

Thanks to everyone!
Received KMG today.
I will be putting it together tomorrow.

I'm trying to determine height to mount it.
I will be mounting on a movable (very heavy) bench.

I ended up editing out my post and making a thread instead on my recent experience with VSM ceramics.

I also +1 on Tru-Grit. I'm a regular customer, and they do their best to help me be successful in my knifemaking. Great place, great guys.
