Just clicked Add to Cart on a Spyderco Manix.

Did I need it? Of course not! I must have twenty other folders from Kershaw, Benchmade, Spyderco etc that are in the same general category as the Manix.

But I wanted it. Oooooh, I wanted it. I convinced myself that I really needed to have a super sturdy flat ground blade with a hole and great ergos... because... well, just because. And I didn't have one with all the features of the Manix.

So of course I read all the forum reviews. How have I been able to live so long without buying this knife already?

So of course I gazed longingly at the wife, who, luckily, loves me. "If it will make you happy" she said, with only the smallest quaver in her voice which meant "this guy is so g-d addicted to steel he'd sell his own mother for that new Blade Tech/Lightfoot folder."

Hey wait... there's that new Blade Tech folder!

I need help. And a larger knife roll.

Can't wait to get my new Manix!

:D

I did a rough calculation the other day....approximately $15,000 spent over the last 6 years. Or another way to look at it. I'm now the owner of almost about 75 feet or razor edge steel. If I didn't know I could get at least 3/4 of it back from Ebay, I'd be worried.

Regards

One nice thing about good knives--they do hold their value. They may or may not go up in value, but you seldom lose.

I now understand how a woman can look at a closet full of shoes and honestly say, 'I don't have a thing to wear.'

No Kidding! I'm with you , DRider... in fact, I think that is a GREAT idea!
12 Step Program for Knife Addicts. We could have our own sub-Forum.
Whaddya say, Sparks? :D

Man I am getting to be this way myself. I started out with a Benchmade Griptilian, then bought a Spyderco ATR, then a BM mini-Rukus, then a Presidio, then a lefthanded Emerson Commander, then a BM-42 and oh dang now I am looking for more balisongs online and hey that BM-710 on eBay looks pretty sweet etc. etc...

Ironically, my girlfriend doesn't really mind because now I'm collecting $200 knives instead of $1500 electric guitars. :)

Guitar geeks have an acronym- GAS (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome) for this kind of behavior. I guess it applies to knives too. KAS, anyone?
