I need a knife

Yes, do go to Ragweed Forge at the page below and look at the Telemark knife. I bought one just for the historic significance of the place. James Mattis, may JHWH hold him in His hands, used to sell this knife and I had had a telephone discussion with him regarding the import of Telemark and the Norsk Hydroelectric Plant and the heroism involved there some years ago. He had expanded the entry on the Telemark knife to include some of the history and I had intended to buy one from him, but his death intervened. I have bought one from Ragnar. You may read some of that remarkable story at the second link. There is more to it, of course; there always is, but that part has to do with a ferry across the Trondheim Fjord, not Telemark.

As it is, the whole story is one of remarkable heroism and sacrifice that went a long way to deny Hitler the atom bomb.

I think I've narrowed it down to three. The Pikuni, the TRAK, and the WM-1. I'm leaning towards the TRAK just for the fun aspect. The Ragweed Forge stuff looks like great value, but I am looking for something a little more on the tactical side of things right now. If anyone has got more suggestions let me know. Thanks.

Just a follow up. I got a Ferret necker from Dawkind and am about to send a money order for a Camillus CQB-2. Thanks for your suggestions.

Alot of people like that Camillus knife, although I am bothered by the near absence of a guard. Be careful with it.

You live in a very senic area. I have made a few trips to southern Utah to see the national parks there. However, when I have tried to visit Cedar Breaks near Cedar City, it was still closed due to snow (early summer).

I think my favorite park in Utah is not one of the national parks, though. It is Goblin Valley - a photographer's dream. I once camped there, and was just awestruck by the unusual rock formations.
