I need a mill

Justin did you get the 4190 with the dro from little machine shop? How do you like it? Do you feel it was worth the price? I don’t know if I want to pay 200 for shipping. I don’t know if I want to spend 1600 then 200 for shipping and god knows how much else in tooling. The grizzly 759 I think is around the same price anyway but the dro doesn’t look As nice.
i wish I lived in Texas!!
Josh thanks I will definitely keep checking Craigslist and the like however I think Craigslist has gone the way of eBay and everyone puts the pie in the sky price for everything.
Local N.Y. Craigslist add for vise will read something like” freakin vise over here. Rusted and don’t work to good. Screw you 300!”

I've had several mills and now have the Griz G0704 and am loving it. It came with a DRO which I never use, and I do exactly what you want to do.
If you were going to do folders, I could see it.
A big mill isn't necessary, and for me, I would opt for the griz over a bridgeport considering what I use it for. A big mill for me would be too awkward.

I used the Mini mill from Harbor Freight, the red X2 with a belt conversion and it worked very well for this task for many years for me. The griz is a bit bigger but not too big, and maybe a bit tighter.
I can also mount two vises on the griz which can be handy.

I would also say that it has completely replaced my drill press. I have a tiny benchtop DP that I use to drill leather stitching holes, and that's about it for the drill press.
Now if you had to drill larger pieces that might not fit in the mill you have to consider that.

If you sell thjat Griz Brock, let me know :) LOL

Yessir that's the one. The dro is actually an android tablet with the DRO app. I got my tooling from them as well. And a Albrecht keyless chuck from ebay for about 50 bucks. But yeah I'm extremely happy with the purchas . I really didnt feel like trying to attach a DRO myself honestly

Another thing I do is set up a saved search on Craigslist. I got my x2 mill for $125 bucks. I've bought quite a bit of other machine tools and accessories that way. Far cheaper than retail, especially if you live in a decent sized city or near enough to one.

Little Machine Shop mill has served me well. I use it a lot & don't have DRO. It's much better than other imported mills. I also have a Sherline, it's an amazing little mill for its size!!!
