i have owned a s30v kershaw blur for several years and i love everything about it except the lockup sucks to say the least, what should i look at that rivals the blur?

Budget?

Off the top of my head, the knife that reminds me the most of a Blur when I have it in hand is a TRM Neutron or Atom... Albeit slicier, pricier, and with better materials.

Yikes!!! Those are too rich for my blood. My budget is under 100 bucks

Kershaw Bareknuckle? Can get a 20cv version right now at a popular seller named after the famous smoky mountains for about 75 bucks. Or the standard 14c28n version for around 55. No better deal to be had IMO!

Not much on the market like the Blur, right now, with most manufacturers trying to get that "Russian Custom" look.

I don't know how else to describe it.

If a similar shape is what you're looking for, the ESEE Zancudo could work.

The blade is made out of D2, and I think it's a smaller knife, overall. Both of those could be deal-breakers, even though ESEE's heat treatment and quality control is very good.

A couple of alternatives that might feel similar are the Real Steel Terra, the Steel Will Cutjack, and the Steel Will Chatbot. I'm lumping them together down here at the end because I don't know how much country of origin means for you, and I don't know what kind of steel or blade sizes each of them offers.

Does the new knife have to be assisted opening like the Blur? If yes, then the Link is 20CV is probably your best bet.

I personally don't like metal handled knives. I find them slick. I like G10 or micarta.

A few choices. Linked from BHQ for easy reference.

With shipping, the Lawman would be right at $100.

You might be able to find some 154CM BM Large Griptilians around too. Many are being discontinued.
I know, these are out. Just an example of the size and materials.

I still love my blurs and keep 2 in my rotation, but if you're looking to switch to a new knife, you might consider one of the upgraded Buck Slim Pro's... @Copper & Clad has a nice looking exclusive 110 model...
A modern retake on a proven classic desgin.

Or a Syderco Endela would be closer to the size and weight of a Blur...

A Cold Steel American Lawman could be another option.

All are back locks, from solid companies, so more reliable lock reputation in general for terms of reliability. Not quite as convenient as a liner.

What sucks about the lockup?
the blade has attempted to close on me while using the knife. essentially i lost trust in the lockup. im not sure if kershaw would fix it or not. i guess it doesnt hurt to ask but im a bit pessimistic when it comes to matters like this

Cold Steel American Lawman. It's a bit difficult to manipulate one-handed but I'll bet you that it will never close on you.

I’d send it in if I were you, that way if there are issues they can resolve.
